Background Information |
Weekend Public Holidays: Public holidays that occur on a weekend are moved to the following Monday.
May Day Bank Holiday is sometimes referred to as Early May Bank Holiday.
There are regular calls to make St. David's Day, March 1st, a public holiday for Wales only, in a manner analogous to what was done for Northern Ireland (St. Patrick's Day, March 17), and most recently, Scotland (St. Andrew's Day, November 30). However, nothing seems likely to happen in the near future.

Note that religious holidays are included only if they are national public holidays, or if the national labour code has specific holiday allowances for employees of specific religions.
