Weekend Public Holidays: Public holidays that occur on a weekend are moved to the following Monday. • May Day Bank Holiday is sometimes referred to as Early May Bank Holiday. • There are regular calls to make St. David's Day, March 1st, a public holiday for Wales only, in a manner analogous to what was done for Northern Ireland (St. Patrick's Day, March 17), and most recently, Scotland (St. Andrew's Day, November 30).
