08 May 2007 (Seychelles Nation-Victoria) The Department of Public Administration has announced that Saturday, 12 May 2007, has been declared a public holiday on account of the National Assembly election.
21 Mar 2007 (Seychelles Nation) President James Alix Michel has announced the dissolution of the National Assembly in Seychelles to prepare for early legislative election, which will take place within the next three months instead of mid-October, the time the election would have taken place if the Assembly was allowed to complete its mandate.
30 Jan 2007 (Christie Digital) The Seychelles will be holding the 30th annual celebration of their National Day on June 18, 2007.

Governing Law: Official public holidays in the Seychelles are regulated by the Public Holidays Act 1976 (an Act to make provision for public holidays; and to provide for matters incidental thereto or connected therewith) as amended in 1994 by the Public Holidays (Amendment) Act, 1994 (No. 5 of 1994, Official Gazette, Supplement, 1994-06-07, pp. 25-26) which added the June 18 National Day to the list of public holidays in the Seychelles.
