Governing Law: The official public holidays in Norfolk Island are regulated by section 40 of the Public Service Act 1979 and regulation 3 of the Public Sector Management Regulations 2000, and the Employment (Public Holidays) Amendment Act 2001 (Act No 12 of 2001). The list and dates of each year's public holidays are published in the Norfolk Island Government Gazette, usually in September or October of the previous year.
