Governing Law: Official public holidays in Jersey are governed by The Public Holidays and Bank Holidays (Jersey) Law 1951 (revision 15.560 of January 1, 2006). Overall, Jersey tends to follow the UK in the declaration of public holiday, as above, with the addition of Liberation Day.
• Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day are moved to the following Monday if they fall on the weekend.
• Battle of the Flowers is not an official public holiday but is a major event .
