Recent News and Updates |
24 Aug 2007 (Telediario 3) The President of Guatemala, Oscar Berger, announced, earlier today, that he had declared Monday, September 10, 2007, as a one-off public holiday to compensate people for traveling back, often far, to their place of electoral registration, for the Presidential and Legislative elections on the day before.
14 Feb 2007 (Office of the Press Secretary, the White House) US President, George W. Bush, and First Lady, Mrs. Bush, will travel to Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, Guatemala, and Mexico (in that order) from March 8-14, 2007. One can expect major disturbances in these countries' capitals due to heightened security and anti-American demonstrations.
