Weekend Public Holidays: Public holidays that occur on a weekend remain on that date (ie. they are not moved to another date, such as the following Monday, for example). In fact, Article 7 of Law 1400/1983 specifically prohibits the transfer of public holidays when they fall on a Sunday. • Greek law provides for both mandatory and discretionary public holidays. These are all subject to a decision by the Minister for Labour.
