Sexual theme parks offer
wild and raunchy rides

Tokyo Disneyland, Universal Studios Japan, Sanrio Puroland...the list of Japanese theme parks is endless. But it' s also usually incomplete. For every little amusement park set up to thrill the young or just the young at heart, there' re almost as many fairs that exist as sexual theme parks, according to Shukan Taishu (9/2), to highlight the carnal side of nature.

Literally referred to in Japanese as treasure palaces, or hihokan, these places are anything but fair, and the rides they have on offer are somewhat different to such attractions as Star Tours, though the ultimate aim of providing a thrill remains the same.

Take the Hokkaido Hihokan, the only one of its type on Japan' s northernmost island. As well as having on display over 100 varieties of stuffed animals all set up as they would if mating, the hall also contains a diorama of Snow White being attended to by animals in the forest where she was forced to flee from her wicked stepmother before meeting the Seven Dwarves. But the highlight of the show would have to be the ride-on male member. Seating at least two, it bucks up and down in a fashion similar to a rodeo bull, though at not quite the same pace. A display of religious artifacts related to fertility also makes the hall a popular site.

Going lower, geographically at least, brings you to the Kinugawa Hihokan, located just north of Tokyo. Shukan Taishu notes that this hall is dedicated to providing information about proclivities of the past, with ample information provided about sexual practices during the Edo Period (1603-1868), including some displays where wax dolls demonstrate what' s going down -- literally. Also available are the raunchy ukiyo-e pictures of the period, as well as other paraphernalia people used to use by themselves when the imagination simply wouldn' t suffice.

Seaside Atami has on display hundreds of examples of the genitalia of animals, including those of whales, which gives this sexual theme park a Big Dipper of an entirely different sort. Accessible by cable car, the hall is also replete with moving dolls that act out a series of saucy scenes. Crowning glory of the hall is its whopping set of family jewels that mysteriously vibrate when anybody sits on them. Visitors can also pick up a variety of less than savory souvenirs.

A little further on down the track in Ise, Mie Prefecture, lies Japan' s first " secret treasure house" -- Genso Kokusai Hihokan (Original International Treasure House). Somewhat staid compared with some of its successors, the hall splits into four thematic sections, each of which is devoted to a particular aspect of sexuality. Its somewhat stiff interior is offset by its external design, which resembles an Arabian palace.

Also with a fixation for things Arabian is the Kanko Hihokan in Saga Prefecture. Here, 22 different varieties of sound, light and visual images are used to the full, Shukan Taishu says, to provide an epic of eroticism. Dummies act out raunchy shows, including Lawrence of Arabia, a doll clad in a Bedouin headdress that couples with a female doll to show there' s more humps here than just those on the camel it is riding. Of particular note, the men' s weekly says, is the show featuring an orgy in a harem.

Letting everything hang out is the Tachikawa Suisen and Nazo no Paradise on Awaji Island, not far from Kobe. It is jam-packed with documents related to the male organ that have been collected from both East and West down through the ages. During winter, the area is famous for its daffodils, allowing you to go outside to pluck and inside to...well, whatever.

Going down almost as far as you can in Japan...Kyushu, of course...there' s the Beppu Hihokan. Unlike many other sexual theme parks, which tend to be dark and dingy sorts of places, Beppu' s proudly sheds light, literally, on the pleasures of the flesh -- even if it does so using the wax dolls ubiquitous at hohikan throughout Japan. A feature of the Beppu Hihokan is that it has regular screenings of the movie " 48 Love Positions," providing more than enough input for anybody to make a trip there as worthwhile as any visit to a regular theme park.

Daughters of 'respectable' families flaunt all in porn videos


Last month, the news got out that the daughter of a powerful Liberal Democratic Party Diet member had become a porn film star.

The news caused a panic in the political circles of Nagata-cho. Another magazine, Shukan Bunshun, even disclosed the identity of the Diet member.

The story broke when a reporter recognized a porn star coming out of a luxurious home owned by the Diet member.

A newspaper reporter was arrested Friday on suspicion of paying money to have sex with a school girl, the Matsuyama-Nishi Police Station said.

According to the police, Masaki Murakami, a 23-year-old reporter of The Ehime Shimbun in Matsuyama, paid a female high school student for sex in his apartment on the night of Feb. 19.

He allegedly knew that the girl, who was sent from a sex business, was under the age of 18, the police said. He was arrested on suspicion of violating the law on child prostitution and child pornography.



Murakami admitted to the allegations.

Murakami started working as a sports writer for the newspaper in April. He reported on the National High School Baseball Championship and other sport news.

Tokyo's mission to clean up its streets of shame
The Tokyo metropolitan government is eyeing a drastic revision of its ordinance on minors, including restrictions on children going out late at night. The metropolitan government asked its council on minors the same day to deliberate on an ordinance revision aimed at strengthening protection of Tokyo children from crimesTatsuo Mizuno, head of child welfare at the Tokyo metropolitan government, says the regulations will not restrict freedom of movement.
"Teenagers who have good reason to be at these places during the curfew will not be affected," he said.

An increasing number of teenagers in East Asia are being lured into prostitution by adults via Internet chat rooms and mobile phone contacts, an international advocacy group warned Monday.
The phenomenon of "compensated dating," is a major new problem in Asia, activists said Monday.

Authorities, by branding schoolchildren as promiscuous and immoral, are letting the main culprits off the hook — the pedophiles who are exploiting vulnerable teenagers, said the Bangkok-based watchdog group known by the acronym ECPAT.

"The children cannot consent to their own sexual exploitation," ECPAT's Amalee McCoy told a news conference.

In an annual report, the group said a lack of government and community action has allowed the problem — prevalent for decades in Japan — to spread in recent years to Thailand, South Korea, China, Singapore and the Philippines.

"In Thailand, transactions are brisk online through highly visible chat rooms, and the trend is gaining ground in South Korea" through phones, McCoy said.

She wrote a chapter in the report on the phenomenon known in Japan as "enjo kosai," which involves older men providing gifts and cash in exchange for the company of young women.

McCoy told The Associated Press it is virtually impossible to put a number on how many children are involved in child prostitution, but added that ECPAT has recorded a burgeoning trend in the United States as well.

In Japan, girls list their mobile phone numbers with an operator to seek customers. "Girls as young as 13 use cell phones to arrange dates via video display, making it easier for them to screen prospective customers," the report said.

A South Korean police officer from Seoul was quoted as saying two to three students in every middle and high school class in the city are believed to be engaged in prostitution.

It frequently involves teenage boys and girls from "decent" middle- and upper-class families, the ECPAT report said.

Teenagers are often motivated to sell sexual favors for money to buy expensive electronic items, clothing, or to pay for trips with friends, the report said.

The real culprits are the procurers of sex, usually men, either married or single, McCoy said.

ECPAT found men who pay for sex with children are often from a variety of respectable professions, such as teachers, police officers and judges.

"The fight against sexual exploitation of children should be everybody's business, everybody's concern," said Anil Raghuvanshi, ECPAT's deputy director.

ECPAT is the acronym for End Child Prostitution, Child Pornography and Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes.

It is true. While we hear stories about Viet and Thai girls coming into prostitution in order to eat and feed their families (although there is NO excuse for it), we see Japanese teengirls selling their bodies for some L.V. purses, Guccis or even for some 300 bucks...
