Alright. I managed to recover a few things, but I’m still missing quite a lot. And of course, the most important files are some of the missing ones. I’ve added a new tag to each of the donor projects in the Donor Projects section. If you have the raws for any of the ones listed in red, please send them to me so that I can get this recovery over with and move on with the translations. Note: I do not need the translated files sent to me. I can get those from the DDL as soon as I’ve managed to reinstall everything.

If you’ve paid for a commission partially or in full, I’ve already redownloaded your raws and I’ll be getting to work on them tonight. In all cases, I wasn’t able to recover the partially completed files, so I will need to start over from scratch.

If you have any pending commissions(ie: You’ve been quoted a price) and you haven’t already sent me a bump e-mail, please do so within the next week or so. That way, I can get my list back on track. If you don’t contact me, there’s a good chance I won’t remember you had a commission pending.

To SL-Gundam and Harbl. I still have yours because they were saved to another hard drive, so you don’t need to resend them.

Edit: Thanks to everyone who e-mailed me the donor project raws. I now have all of them recovered, so I’ll be able to get started on them. I wasn’t able to recover many of the old psd files, but as long as I have the raws, I can at least continue to translate the remaining chapters.

Well, I’ve exhausted most of the possibilities for data recovery that don’t involve me spending $500 to recover 40 or so gigs worth of files. I went out and got a replacement drive so that I could reinstall and get everything back up and running on my fast pc but I likely won’t have everything set up before tomorrow.

To any who have the donor project raws on hand(In particular, the last 4 chapters of Silver Dragon), if you could send me e-mails with new download links, those would save me a lot of time and trouble hunting them all down.

To those who have current commissions they’ve paid for partially or in full, I’ve redownloaded the raws for your stuff already, so I’ll be working on those soon.

To any commissioners who have “upcoming” commissions(ie: I’ve quoted you a price but haven’t started yet), send me a bump e-mail so that I can reschedule everything because my scheduling list is officially dead. If the old links you’ve sent are dead, please reupload the raws so that I’ll have them.

Update: I just finished reinstalling windows on the fast pc. I’ll need to reinstall everything else now. My brother suggested hooking the crapped out hard drive up to my father’s mac and it seems that it’s able to read some files, but it takes about 7 minutes to open each folder. I’m trying to recover some of the more important stuff, but it’s taking forever. It’s taking me about an hour to transfer 100 megs worth of stuff to the mac. there are also some folders that have been corrupted entirely. As Murphy’s law would have it, a lot of the corrupted files are the ones I need the most right now. It’s not going well, but it’s better than nothing, I guess.

As the title suggests, my primary hard drive has crashed. I’m going to be trying to restore what I can from it tomorrow, but I don’t know how long it will take before I’m up to speed again. And when I say “Primary”, I mean it’s got all the stuff I’ve been translating including all the donor projects and any other recent commissions I’ve been trying to get done. Currently, I’m typing on my dinosaur PC, but that doesn’t exactly help me too much. There is a chance I won’t be able to recover everything, If that’s the case, the commissioners I’ve still got pending may need to drop me an e-mail to send me the raws again. If that turns out to be the case, I’ll put up a notice on the blog tomorrow.

If it isn’t immediately obvious, releases will likely be delayed for several days because of this.
