London Irish ran in eight tries as they hammered French club Dax 59-7 in their European Challenge Cup tie at the Madejski Stadium on Thursday.

Elvis Seveali'i (2), James Hudson, Delon Armitage, Topsy Ojo, returning Wales scrum-half Warren Fury (2) and Peter Hewat were the scorers.

Hewat successfully converted all eight tries and added a penalty to take his tally to 19 points for the game.

Jannie Bornman scored a try for Dax in the dying stages.

Antoine Vignau Tuquet converted Dax's consolation try.

Irish's fourth bonus-point victory puts them well clear at the top of Pool One, 11 points ahead of second-placed Connacht - who have played three matches.
