Feedback on the work the foundation is doing

The following is an extract from an email sent to Muhammad Umar Chairman of the Foundation from Mr. Clark W. Hand.  A US Christian living in Maryland just north of Washington, D.C.  He said,

“Today, I have read a quote attributed to you in The Washington Post (Sunday, 17 September 2006, Page A18).  It appears in an article about Pope Benedict XVI's comments on Islam of last week that have provoked such an outcry of reaction from the Muslim world.  The article is entitled, "Aide Say Pope 'Regrets' Comments on Islam."  Your quote in this article is as follows: "We welcome his apology and we hope now we can work together and build bridges.  At the same time we would condemn all forms of violent demonstrations."

Your statement above is the first time that I have heard from an Islamic leader that all violence is unacceptable, "terrorism" included by implication.  You have convinced me once again of the greatness and peace of Islam!
