Pedophilic promo has manga maniacs panting for pre-schooler panties

It's gross, filthy and disgusting, but Japanese erotic manga fans can't get enough of a comic that comes with a pair of pre-school girl's panties as a promotional item, according to Cyzo (March).

Pretty much anything goes in the world of Japanese erotic manga, but "Sekai Hatsu Shiawase Pantsu Shokai Gentei" (World's First Limited Edition Panties of Delight), one of the most wildly popular manga on the market, goes beyond being sickening.

Even Cyzo, a glossy monthly that could kindly be termed as "broad minded" is disgusted, saying "Has the world of Rorikon stooped this low?"

Rorikon, the Japanese word for pedophilia, is a contraction of the borrowed English words "Lolita," after the girl in Vladimir Nabokov's book of the same name, and "complex."

"Shiawase Pantsu" is a manga sold only to over 18s, but buyers of the January edition at least could also pick up a pair of underpants the publishers, Akaneshinsha, proudly boast of being for a 130-centimeter tall girl -- a size commonly worn by pre-schoolers.

Pointing out that Japan has been recently subjected to a spate of high profile pedophile crimes, Cyzo attempts to contact Akaneshinsha, a publisher that purveys erotic manga catering to all manner of tastes -- imaginable and unimaginable -- but the company refuses to comment on the manga.

Cyzo notes that there's nothing rare in the erotic manga or video game world for articles of girl's clothing to be used as promotional giveaways for comic purchases. Typical items are pantyhose or school-issued swimsuits.

"It's really hard to mass produce these items, so it's difficult to say whether it's a trend to have these giveaways or not," Cyzo hears from a spokesman for Circus, a company which created "Sukumizu," a video game sold with a free schoolgirl's swimsuit. "I can't speak for other companies, but we decided on our giveaway because we wanted our readers to know what schoolgirls' swimsuits are really like."

Reaction on the Net to manga like "Shiawase Pantsu" or "Sukumizu" is, frankly, alarming. Many regard the blatantly pedophilia products with humor, but even self-professed child lovers are too red-faced to talk about it.

"Not even I can make a comment about little girls' underpants being given away," an admitted pedophile tells Cyzo.

Most alarming about "Shiawase Pantsu," however, is the reaction from consumers. It has, the monthly notes, sold so well that reservations for advance orders have been shut off because the publishers can't keep up with demand. (By Ryann Connell)

I could write an entire page worth of comments mocking the japanese but im really out of words on this one. I cant believe this is happening in a stable country... much less a first world country with the second largest economy in the world.

Another cheap attempt to draw in a huge, multi-paged round of racist, anti-Japanese diatribe. Go figure!

Sometimes I wonder how the fu-k Japan ever reached first world status, much less become a economic power. I guess pedophiles have special powers like immortality(south park reference).

Because there are approximately 127 million Japanese people on this planet, and I doubt anyone can ascertain the exact percentage of that number being classfied as "pedophilic".

Let alone lable all of them as such icon_rolleyes.gif

Did you not read some of the sentences in bold?

"one of the most wildly popular manga on the market

Oh, I'm not doubting that there are sick perverts in Japan - as there are most likely in every other country. It's your (and the article's) insinuations that I'm taking issue with.

This was what you originally said:

What you're implying is that somehow, since Japan is a country of perverts, it baffles you how Japan could have "reached first world status" or an "economic power".

Whatever. Let's break it down.

Do you know the exact percentage of "manga fans" (or "manga maniacs") in Japan?

Do you know how much within that number of "manga fans" are undie-sniffing "pedophilics"?

Better yet, what does "one of the most wildly popular" mean? The exact numbers aren't given.

Plus, "sold so well...the publishers can't keep up with demand" means nothing if
(1) There weren't many copies published in the first place, and;
(2) Those type of sick $hit appeals only to the hardcore perverts, which neither you nor the writer of that article can numerically ascertain.

And not to mention, other nonsensical and deliberately vague jargon such as "nothing rare" and "common" are just that: meaningless words that nobody can find any cold, hard facts behind them.

Typical, tabloid garbage.

he said those things to emphasize how wrong it is to sell used panties. i don't think he's trying to diss japan in the japanese forum.

For your information I never edited the bold parts. The topic always had those bold statements. More importantly it wasnt necessary for me to bold. Simply reading the article would make the bolds unnecessary. And chill out im no really serious on my attitude about every single Japanese male being perverted. However there is no doubt that your country has a big problem.

I mean come on, the Japanese government allowing and requiring permits to sell used womens underwear in vending machines? Or comics with kiddy underwear selling out and even being tolerated(and sadly POPULAR)? Do you think any of this would pass in any other first world country?

This statement is completly nullified due to the fact that the article states that its one of the most popular comics in japan.

Japan ain't my country.

Second, you don't need to tell me that Japan has problems. I never said otherwise.

I don't know. I'm not prepared to tell you what other countries do and don't do.

Besides, I don't profess to knowing what goes on in other populations' legal system or its mentality.

Japan has problems. That much is true. But those 'problems' aren't necessarily shared by all of the 127 million Japanese or even a majority of them.

If neither you nor the author can offer any figures or data, then the original point made in the article is the one that's been "nullified".

This was what the article said:

QUOTE

First, it's "erotic" cartoons. It's already classified.

Second, "the market", from what I understand, refers to the "erotic" one. So therefore, it wouldn't refer to "in Japan", because it's not an entire market (i.e. which includes every genre) that's been referred to. If it does, then it's the writer's fault for structuring the sentence in a way that's vague and easily mis-interpreted.

And I will say it again: Japan has a problem, but unless anyone can come forward with credible data to show that a large percentage of the 127 million Japanese people indulge in that sick $hit, then I don't see what grounds there were for such implications to have been made.

What some people don't understand is that when you make sweeping generalisations, it'll either be construed as "true" for all, or be used as weapons for racist fanatics in their never-ending quest to stir $hit up. There are dumb people in this world. Many posters on asiafinest.com are prime examples.

Social (and socio-economic) problems require much more than a simplistic, tabloid article to analyse.

One of America's banks, which I forgot the name of, had a similar promo. They offered guns to people who opened an account there. Why didn't anyone comment on that? Every single country in this world has pedophiles, rapists, murderers, and so on. It just so happens that Japan is more lenient in their sexual censureship. It's well known that Japan is a pretty weird country, coming to sexuality. What isn't known, is that Japan is, statistically, one of the most safe countries too. I don't know the exact numbers, but to draw a comparison: Japan's murder rate is (pure example, this isn't a true number) é per week. Japan has 127 million citizens. Belgium also has 2 murders a week. Belgium has 10 million residents. This isn't personal, but you all should be less influenced by the media. Japan is being portrayed as this lawless country with no sexual limitations whatsoever. What the media does not show is that Japan has one of the more severe punishments for pedophiles in the Northern hemisphere.

Hi, I would like to open up a new account, I don't have any ID, and I don't want to get sunburned so I wear this black ski mask all the time. Don't bother filling a lot of information in on my application form because after I get my gun, I won't be staying long.

Oh, and I do hope that that gun takes the type of bullets I've got in my pocket.
