the best ever

Japan has recently claimed the world air guitar championship, but Weekly Playboy (10/2) notes that less well known is that Japan already had a world champ in another virtual sport -- air sex!

Just like air guitar pits competitors prancing around on stage empty handed but acting as though they were playing a hot riff, air sex requires players to simulate sauciness as though with a partner, but actually while alone.

"Air sex was originally invented by guys who couldn't get girlfriends, but desperately want to have sex," J-Taro Sugisaku, the self-professed creator of air sex, tells Weekly Playboy.

Sugimura tells the weekly that air sex began when a mostly male group gathered at a theater in the trendy Tokyo district of Shimo Kitazawa earlier this year. They began talking about sex techniques, then started demonstrating them. Soon, a competition developed to come up with the most outrageous display of faked fornication.

"You must be warned, though... air sex can be very dangerous," Sugisaku says. "Normally what happens with a display is that you perform the same way you normally would when having sex. I've seen guys who put on air sex shows that clearly display they're still virgins. I've also seen other guys perform such incredibly authentic fake fellatio that nobody has been left in any doubt that they could only be bisexual. Let me reiterate: Air sex can be dangerous."

Japan's reigning air sex world champion is a fella who goes by the name of Cobra. His theory for successful air sex is that it involves more than just blowing.

"On the day that I reached the top, the day I became world champion, I was thinking of my girlfriend. No, my ex-girlfriend. She'd just dumped me two days before the contest," Cobra tells Weekly Playboy. "The air sex display I put on that day was, in my mind at least, supposed to be the farewell fling I really wanted to have with my girlfriend. It was the best possible condition I could have been in going into the competition."

Cobra then proceeds to put on an 8 1/2-minute display of air sex for the weekly, with moves including ear nibbling, sphincter licking, attaching a condom while kissing, ejaculation and afterglow. Cobra says that the knack of bogus bonking lies in openness.

"You can't care about what women watching your performance are thinking about you. When you get down to air sex, you've got to immerse yourself in the air sex world," Cobra says. "Air sex can't be performed in half-measures. If it is, you're only asking for trouble."

Air sexpert Sugisaku agrees.

"If you get nervous, air sex is impossible," he tells Weekly Playboy. "A good start is understanding your own sexual habits and going on from there." (By Ryann Connell)

i think they win the award for daniella's favorite new band of the year...

holy shit!

bought my ticket to kalamazoo today. i'm so excited i could vomit.

p.s.
horoscope for today:
You can turn on the charm today even more than usual, increasing your ability to get away with borderline unacceptable behavior. However, it's not a smart idea to test the limits or others may recognize that your emotional veneer isn't real. You might be able to fool everyone for a short time, but don't think for a moment that you will get away with intentional deception. Be honest and enjoy yourself instead of attempting to bend the odds in your favor.

bush quote of the day:
I appreciate that question because I, in the state of Texas, had heard a lot of discussion about a faith-based initiative eroding the important bridge between church and state. --George w. Bush Washington, DC 01/29/2001 speaking to reporters

things i want to do

i am irritated with my bored self. things i want to accomplish. and more sooner then later because i'm sick of being bored all of the time. to quote of montreal: I’m so sick and tired of always feeling down/ yeah just sitting around yeah wasting my life/ I want to dance I want to dance I want to dance"
  1. stop listening to the same bands over and over and over and over and over again because i am getting really fucking sick of the music i listen to and that sucks a lot
  2. finish my god damned zine
  3. clean my dirty dirty room because i am sick of not being able to find anything. for example. i cant find socks. i know they are in there. i just bought a pack of brand new ones and i lost them all already. how the shit does that happen? oh yes. because my room ate them.
  4. start doing mail art again. maybe start a mail club with nicole. maybe start a mix tape/cd collective. maybe start participating in the ones i am already signed up for. remember to send the stuff i am already supposed to be sending.
  5. start writing my comic book
  6. quit quitting smoking cigarettes
  7. do a little dance, make a little love
  8. figure out my finances with my mom, then smoke a lot of cigarettes
  9. start eating breakfast at home
  10. look into going back to school ::guhh:: thats a big number ten..
  11. stop quoting of montreal so much
  12. stop abusing facebook
  13. quit being irrational
  14. drink some more coffee

destroy the male sex - a mix cd

i made this cd last night for someone who made me a mix cd of mostly female artists and i thought that was damn awesome because there just arent enough mix cds with mostly females on them so i made one that only had one all male band on it and thats matmos because they were cool enough to do a song called "tract for valerie solanas" which is where i got the title of the mix cd from. valerie solanas is a hardcore feminist (in that she thinks that females are superior to men) and is one badass chick in general. i started the song out with "oh bondage! up yours!" mostly because the first lyrics are "some poeple think little girls should be seen and not heard. well i think. oh bondage! up yours!" and i think thats fucking awesome. the other songs dont really have a whole lot to do with feminism. but i think that that is awesome. if i am ever in a band i am going to do my ONE feminist "fuck yea i'm in a band" song and thats it. because women shouldnt have to write songs about being oppressed. they should just be able to sing songs and thats it. men dont sing about being men. why the shit arent more women in bands, anyway? its not like we lack the damn talent. we must still feel like we should be feminine or some shit like that. i'm not saying there are NO women bands. but when there is it seems like thats their "schtick". why cant there be women bands and it never is brought up that they are. why did i make this mix? am i feeding into the same shit i am trying to rip down. i dont know what the shit i am talking about anymore. whatever. if you want a copy ask me for one and you shall recieve it.

i wish i were more ambiguous though shrouded in mystique (well disguised not very cleverly)
it would seem fallacious if i were to declare adoration any other way
to make an almost silent production is the utmost impractical yet maudlin gesture i could think of
enough with all that fluff
i like you
i hope you like me

When I open the office door and walk inside, seeing your smile assures me I'm going to have a good day. There are countless reasons nothing will ever happen between us... but when our eyes catch, even for a moment, I like to think that you're thinking the same.

mint oreo?!!!!!??!

thanksgiving was pleasant despite my concerns that they hated me, which turned out to be something completely fabricated in my head. sweet. it was fun. bonfire was good as aways 'cept for this year i particularly hated that my clothes smelt like wood fire. it was just particularly fishy and i cant seem to shake the smell. i smell it everywhere. i dont know. anyways. it was good times. till the next day when my stomach said "oh no you di-dn't" and decided that it wanted to have the flu. so i spent the next 12 hours asleep or by a toilet. by saturday night i was feeling pretty good.

yesterday i spent lounging around the house not doing a ga-damned thing and it was awesome. went through some old tapes including some old mixes from when i was 12ish and it was damned hilarious. i got an unexpected phone call from ian which was really nice and i fell asleep quickly.

alas, i woke up at 3am. had "are u that somebody" stuck in my head and couldn't fall asleep till 4. then kaumari pushed my door open with her gi-normous head and woke me up at 4:45am at which point i gave up and got up.

the end

i am a murderer

yesterday as i was driving home from work a suicidal bunny jumped out in front of my car and i ran over it. its the 2nd animal i have killed in this fashion. the first of which i was driving to work in the mazda and i was just driving past the waterford speedway in connecticut and i ran over a squirrel. i felt really bad about it for years and just when i was about to forget the whole thing i go and kill another innocent animal. i'm sorry mr. bunny. that i was in your way and i crushed you. i think vic and i should avoid that road when going to/from work for another week or two. :-( i'm sorry!!

other then that, tonight we are going to loyal, wisconsin for thanksgiving. about 40 relatives show up for this reunion of sorts. it should be fun. i have decided that i think the reason that i am always uncomfortable around my family members (this isnt just the extended family, immediate family included) i am just very defensive. i feel the need to defend my opinions constantly. which is strange because when it comes time to ACTUALLY defend my opinions i usually get stressed under the pressure and just not want to talk about it or find it difficult to put into words what i actually want to say. victoria and i were having a conversation about the difference between being agnostic and atheist. and i dont remember what exactly was said were i got really "uhh... umm.. ddurr.. but umm... fuck it! i cant put it into words!" and i hate feeling like that. anyways. point being. i get defensive. but at the same time i am thinking to myself "oh man! i should totally wear my pat robertson tshirt (Feminism encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.) or this morning debating bringing my black and red stripes stockings. and i dont really know why i want to get my family all riled up. i think its a middle child wanting attention thing. that MUST be what it is. i just wish i had the willpower to back up my actions sometimes.

but i really AM excited to see my family. we dont see each other often. in fact, i think the last time i saw most of them was the last thanksgiving i went to 2 years ago. so i am looking forward to going to ripps bar with my cousins (this year i can go because i'm 21) and playing sequence and apples to apples.

Today marks the release of Mirah's new album, Joyride: Remixes. Check it out at your local record store or at our store http://www.krecs.com/Shop/

Mirah has recorded three albums of her lovely song self, always directing the writing, production and arrangements. Now she is in a year hiatus from performing, but she wanted to play again, just for fun and not so serious.

So Mirah made a plan: She generously offered up her songs themselves and asked for the participation of the people around her. In this hot air balloon ride of remixes, Mirah lifts off with old friends and new ones, taking off without quite knowing where the landing might be. With so many music-smart friends at the controls, Joyride: Remixes is an experiment for Mirah in not being the only one in charge. It is an experiment in floating free through the clouds, sharing, giving away and opening presents at the same time.

Twenty-two songs [as remixed by]:
The Light [Hooliganship] • La Familia [Guy Sigsworth] • Monument [Anna Oxygen] • Nobody Has to Stay [Shawn Parke] • Don’t Die in Me [Bryce Panic] • Apples in the Trees [Pash] • Sweepstakes Prize [Ben Adorable] • Make It Hot [Tender Forever] • Advisory Committee [Shok] • Dogs of B.A. [Krts] • Jerusalem [YACHT] • Don’t Die in Me [Mt. Eerie] • The Garden [Khaela Maricich] • Mt. St. Helens [Shawn Parke] • Make It Hot [YACHT] • Pollen [Lucky Dragons] • Cold Cold Water [Electrosexual & Abberline] • Advisory Committee [Emily Kingan] • La Familia [Chris Baker] • We're both so Sorry [screamclub] • The Light [DJ Beyonda] • Apples in the Trees [Bryce Panic]

cool thing of the day

In Buddhist thought, a bodhisattva is a being who is dedicated to assisting all sentient beings in achieving complete Buddhahood. Conventionally, the term is applied to hypothetical beings with a high degree of enlightenment. Bodhisattva literally means "enlightenment ('bodhi') being ('sattva')" in Sanskrit.

ahhh-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha

Mr. Treehorn draws a lot of water in this town, Lebowski. You don't draw shit. We got a nice quiet beach community here, and I aim to keep it nice and quiet. So let me make something plain. I don't like you sucking around bothering our citizens, Lebowski. I don't like your jerk-off name, I don't like your jerk-off face, I don't like your jerk- off behavior, and I don't like you, jerk-off --do I make myself clear?

I'm sorry, I wasn't listening.

yea well, thats just like.. your opinion man

to quote my coworker as i listen to melt-banana "are you listening to dogs bark?" to which i reply "actually, this is melt-banana. they are awesome"

stupid bleach..

LAME!!!!!

my stupid hair didnt bleach as awesomely as i wanted it to and for whatever reason its really getting to me. motherfools apparently doesnt take credit cards so i had to drive over to an atm to pay for my two dollar coffee. which also really irritated me for some reason. i am just in a pissy mood today. i think thats just what it comes down to. i also heard two news stories yesterday that really really really bothered me for some reason. one was a semi and a car were in an accident on hwy 12 somewhere. one person was ejected from the car and they had called in the jaws of life. which is something i get upset hearing because, damn. could you imagine? and another story which made me really sick to my stomach to hear. people can fucking discust me sometimes. i mean, jesus christ! thats so god damned depressing. i just cant shake it. i cant believe shit like this still happens! and since when did they ban affirmative action?! what the fuck?!

double wtf?!

conspiracy theories are sexy

1) New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters
3) Ramsin Yuseb has 11 letters
(The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993)
4) George W Bush has 11 letters

1) New York is the 11th state
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers , was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 =11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11

1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.

The most recognized symbol for the US , after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book: "For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace." That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers .
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS 1

What do you think now?!!

Send this to as many people as you know and in 11 minutes you will get a nice surprise, if you don't you will get the shock of Your life in 11 min.

graphic novels are dirty dirty dirty!

this article reminds me of the time i found "Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth" in the childrens section of the middleton public library and i informed the librarian that Jimmy Corrigan, while it SOUNDS like it might be a book for children... really really is NOT meant for children. flipping to a page with a naked woman in it and the librarian made a funny "woohh!" noise like a cute old lady would make. it was adorable.
my favorite part of this article is when they refer to artwork in comic books as pornography. people are so stupid sometimes. reminds me of that sketch that (that comedian whos name i cant think of right now) was talking about how whats his face had a the statue of lady liberty covered up because of her naked breast. wtf? its art, stupids! and i'm sorry your stupid librarians dont do their research and put naked people in the childrens section. did you BUY it out of the childrens section of amazon.com? no you didnt! duh!
AND i think that if a library can carry clockwork orange then they can carry "Blankets"
if you dont want the kiddies to read adult books then move the books! its not rocket science!

From here: clickityclick

As more graphic novels appear in libraries, so do challenges
KANSAS CITY, Missouri - AP

When Amy Crump took over as director of the Marshall Public Library in central Missouri two years ago, she decided to build up the library's offerings for young adults by buying the literary world's hot new thing — graphic novels.

The novels, using the pictures and dialogue balloons of comic books to tell sometimes sophisticated stories in book form, are one of the fastest-growing sectors of the publishing industry, reaching $250 million in sales last year, according to market research firm ICV2 Publishing.

But libraries are increasingly facing complaints from some parents who are concerned that books with adult content could be read by children attracted to the comic book-like drawings.

"The bulk of our graphic novels are for young adults and they're very popular," Crump said, estimating the library's collection has gone from only a handful to around 75.

Among Crump's new acquisitions was "Blankets" by Craig Thompson and "Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic" by Alison Bechdel, two semi-autobiographical accounts of the respective authors' turbulent childhoods that include ruminations on a strict religious upbringing and homosexuality.

Those two graphic novels touched off what Crump said was the first challenge of materials in the library's 16-year history. Parents complained that the books, which include pictures of a naked couple, could be read by children.

"My concern does not lie with the content of the novels, rather my concern is with the illustrations and their availability to children and the community," said Louise Mills, a Marshall resident, at a recent public hearing reported in the local newspaper. "Does this community want our public library to continue to use tax dollars to purchase pornography?"

The library board has since removed the two books from circulation while it develops a policy governing how it collects materials in the future, a policy that would determine the novels' eventual fates.

Sales of graphic novels have more than tripled from $75 million in 2001. Milton Griepp, chief executive of ICV2, which tracks the pop culture marketplace, estimated libraries add another 5 percent to 10 percent to those retail sales figures.

"The last two or three years' growth has been pretty rapid in libraries, and that's because graphic novels have started to be respected as legitimate literature," Griepp said.

"Maus," a World War II Holocaust memoir by Art Spiegelman, won a Pulitzer Prize in 1992, while Gene Luen Yang's "American Born Chinese" this year became the first graphic novel to be nominated for the National Book Award.

But some people who may have never heard of graphic novels are alarmed to see cartoon characters doing and saying very adult things.

"I think there's still a perception in the general public that comics are just for kids, which isn't true and hasn't been true for years," Griepp said.

The Chicago-based American Library Association said it knows of at least 14 challenges relating to graphic novels in U.S. libraries over the past two to three years.

Among the titles objected to were "The Watchmen" by Alan Moore, which was challenged in Florida and Virginia as unsuitable for younger readers; "Akira, Volume 2" by Katsuhiro Otomo, challenged in Texas for offensive language; and "New X-Men Imperial" by Grant Morrison, challenged in Maryland for nudity, offensive language and violence.

Even "Maus" and its sequel, "Maus II," were challenged last year in Oregon as anti-ethnic and unsuitable for younger readers.

Sometimes the challenges are successful. In April, county officials in Victorville, California, removed from their library "Manga: 60 Years of Japanese Comics," because the book included nudity and sexuality.

"Some people find graphical depictions of things more offensive than text," said Carrie Gardner, a spokeswoman for the ALA's Committee for Intellectual Freedom and a professor at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.

The issue has become prevalent enough that the ALA, the National Coalition Against Censorship and the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund earlier this year put out a set of recommendations for librarians looking to begin their own graphic novel collections but wanting to avoid controversy.

The recommendations largely explain how to deal with challenges but also suggest shelving graphic novels in their own section or keeping those aimed at adults separate from those for youngsters.

Gardner said the disputes concerning graphic novels are similar to what happened when libraries began carrying videotapes and providing access to the Internet.

"Librarians are trained to conduct reference interviews and guide patrons to the resources most appropriate for them," Gardner said. "They should be making those decisions."

So Long for Now from the Pro Show - Lee Rayburn

from:
http://www.madison.com/blogs/micprog/index.php?ntid=107257&ntpid=2

Monday morning

I'm not quite sure how to respond to the overwhelming reaction at the loss of progressive talk radio in Madison. First and foremost thank you, thank you, thank you for listening to the Mic 92.1. In just two quick years, we created an intelligent and entertaining listening post for the galvanized left not just in Madison, but throughout Wisconsin. Our listener ratings were released the day before Jodie and I found out that the Pro Show was cancelled and the Mic 92.1 was being turned off. Simply said, our ratings walloped the other talk radio stations in town in the key advertising demographics. The Mic 92.1 continued to grow until the decision was made to turn it off.

I, honestly, don't know why Clear Channel has decided to turn off the Mic 92.1. I was never offered an explanation. Personally, the loss of the station has been a bit devastating. I want to publicly thank my co-workers who have become my family. I started at the Mic 92.1 the day it began broadcasting in 2004. Brian Turany, the former Program Director of the Mic 92.1, has been the patron saint of progressive talk radio in Madison. His tireless work created the quality you heard on the radio everyday. Brian was the one committed to creating a community radio station using corporate resources. With his passion and kindness, working for Brian everyday was never work. Not once. Jodie Shawback, my former co-host on the Pro Show, made great local radio out of my best intentions. She is a consummate radio pro that completed our local programming. The Pro Show on the Mic 92.1 was my baby, and that baby didn't start to sing, dance, and laugh until Jodie arrived. Right now, it's impossible to consider radio again without her. She's also been kind enough to help me find the unemployment office. Chris Bowman did all of my dirty work at the Mic 92.1 and he deserves nothing but future success in radio. I also want to thank Clear Channel Madison's FM Operations Manager, Mike Ferris, who truly believed in progressive talk radio in Madison while not always agreeing with the politics.

One of the greatest pleasures of my job at the Mic 92.1 was meeting all the people in our community working tirelessly to make this world a little better place. Most of them had never been on the radio before and I was always proud to provide a forum for them. Our community forum was made possible by our local advertisers. Another of the great joys of the job was meeting the many local business owners who use their business to benefit the community. I want to sincerely thank all of our local advertisers. Without you, there would be no debate right now as to why the Mic 92.1 is being turned off. You are too numerous to mention here by name without forgetting some, but your suport was never lost on our listeners. I know we delivered results to our advertisers. So did management.

Many of you asked me how we save progressive talk radio in Madison and I honestly just don't know. I don't have much more information than you. I do know that the airwaves, in theory, belong to the people. I also know that I would love nothing more than to be back together with you, Jodie and Brian. You have every right to express your support of progressive talk radio in Madison. There are only three major radio groups in the Madison market: Clear Channel, Entercom, and Mid-West Family. If you're asking me, I'm guessing the most likely radio group to pick-up progressive talk radio in Madison is... Clear Channel. After all, I hear they have a new Fox Sports radio station at a perfect place on the FM dial. If I have to give any advice, here it is: Don't Stop! Whatever you are doing to keep progressive commercial talk radio on the air in Madison, don't stop! I signed the petition to keep the station on the air. This is our community. These are our airwaves. The Mic 92.1 was a great and growing radio station that shared it's communities values and aspirations. If you think that it deserves a place in Madison, say so.

I may not know your name or your face but, if you ever listened to the Pro Show, I know you. You were my friend and my confidante. You were quite literally the closest person to me. Brian and Jodie will attest to that. Everyday, you and I talked about all those things we never mention in mixed company: politics, sex, religion, drugs. I was never any good at small-talk anyway. I will forever be proud of the work we did at the Mic 92.1. Thank you for listening...

more on the show i saw last night

Jason Anderson has been around. He's been the drummer for Yume Bitsu and the Microphones; he's played keyboards for David Dondero and recorded with Mirah, Calvin Johnson and the Blow. He's toured with Mark Robinson, Little Wings and Son, Ambulance since 2002 he's spent fourteen months on the road. With a seemingly insatiable appetite for travel and music, Jason is a true wandering troubadour, playing anywhere and everywhere, and always trying to grow.

For two albums and a handful of singles Anderson hid behind Wolf Colonel, a catchall pseudonym for his prolific, ever-growing output. WC ranged from full-band power-pop to quiet indie rock; the songs, all the while, were held together by Jason's enthusiasm and refreshing earnestness. This sense of honesty and straightforward expression developed with each release, and finally started to fully realize itself on 2004's New England.

New England was truly a breakthrough album. For the recording, Jason teamed up with good friend Phil Elverum, and the collaboration proved amazing. Recorded almost entirely live, in a one take fashion, the music is a sincere snapshot of emotion and camaraderie. The two friends decided on a stark, minimalist production aesthetic, giving the proceedings an organic, bedroom quality. The songs themselves are direct, condensed tales of living in the moment, or trying to.

Jason has lived in the Pacific Northwest, in Omaha, on the east coast, and in his car. His commitment to travel and the idea of "life as tour" has created a community where the line between friend and fan is blurred. The shows are participatory, intimate exchanges of humanity and joy. Everyone seems to leave inspired and uplifted, most of all Anderson himself. It's exciting to see someone who believes so much in music and the potential it has to bring people together.

Statement: The change in formats on WXXM 92.1FM to FOX SPORTS RADIO 92.1:

"Our programming decisions are based entirely on audience research and our knowledge of the communities we serve. We have built and established a strong brand for broadcast sports. We are the market’s source for everything professional sports including the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and their league’s playoffs and championships. We are the local flagship for the Wisconsin Badgers offering our listeners football, men’s and women’s basketball and hockey. We provide coverage of NASCAR and High School sports including the WIAA State Championships in football, boys and girl’s basketball and hockey.

Our research indicated that listeners want more coverage of local high school and collegiate sports, not currently carried on local radio. We have only been able to provide limited exposure for UW Badger Volleyball. We have had listener requests and interest in High School Baseball and our local Northwood’s League Baseball team (The Madison Mallards). We have also had requests to air some programming currently carried on our WTSO AM [ESPN RADIO 1070] live and not time shifted. The need and the appetite for sports in the market have only grown stronger in the past few years. The addition of FOX SPORTS RADIO on WXXM FM 92.1 starting January 1, 2007 will allow us to carry more of what sports fans in the Madison area want, more programming that highlights the local sports scene and more top sports programs live.”

- Jeff Tyler, Vice President / Market Manager for Clear Channel Radio-Madison

All programming carried on WXXM FM through December 31, 2006, can also be streamed via the internet at www.airamerica.com, www.stephaniemiller.com; www.bigeddieradio.com.

Also, based on the results from the poll, I am going to host a crafty get together every Sunday starting at 1pm, from now until the Ho bout. We can stay as long as necessary. We have quite a bit of room at my place, and (I hope my sister doesn't mind my volunteering her) my sister has some craft and artistic skill and more supplies than she knows what to do with. (I love you Daniella!). The only exception is this Sunday because I am hosting a get-together at my place starting at 3pm (which you will all soon be invited too). We can keep supplies at my house too.

Talk to you soon,
Victoria

so anyone who wants to should come over our place on sunday and be crafty with us! this email was sent out to derby people.. but anyone who isnt derby and still wants to come over totally should!!!!

best book ever?

The Official Ninja Webpage
Buy the book on amazon...

Q: Why is everyone so obsessed about ninjas?
A: Ninjas are the ultimate paradox. On the one hand they don't give a crap, but on the other hand, ninjas are very careful and precise.

Q: I heard that ninjas are always cruel or mean. What's their problem?
A: Whoever told you that is a total liar. Just like other mammals, ninjas can be mean OR totally awesome.

Q: What do ninjas do when they're not cutting off heads or flipping out?
A: Most of their free time is spent flying, but sometime they stab. (Ask Mark if you don't believe me.)

This is a picture of my best friend Mark showing off.
He's a lot older than me and almost done with puberty,
which is bragable.

hasamasasa? (roughly translates to "hot or mild salsa?")

another great word/phrase of the day: knocking boots. steve used that phrase yesterday and i thought it was so great i wrote it down on my hand so i wouldnt forget it.

i think thats what i need to start doing. constantly carry around a little notebook so that when someone says a phrase i like or suggests something or asks a question i will be able to recall it from my notebook. i have a seriously bad memory. so i think something like that would be incredibly useful. i'll write on the cover "ginko biloba".

i was telling matt the other day that i am really good at remembering things a month after they happen. i have long term memory. ask me what i had for breakfast yesterday and i would never be able to tell you (well.. expect i remember i had 2 four-cheese scones yesterday but thats because we made a special trip to ancora....)

Again...I go to see you on Wednesday night and I leave feeling worse than ever. Even in my current situation I have never gotten butterflies like I do around you. I don't know why you have this power over me, but you do.

I really wish our situation was different so that I could tell you how I really feel, but I can't. I am pretty sure that you know, as the looks you give me tell it all, but I just wish I could be up front with you. Oh well, I believe this is my last post regarding this and I think I should just stop going to see you on Wednesdays. I will always remember you and I hope you will never forget me...

i fully plan on integrating "valspeak" into my conversations

like, whatever! and also check this awesomeness out. and worship it.

a bad idea

i got home last night. made myself some annie's mack and cheese. and then drank a bottle of shiraz. bad bad bad idea.

steve came over and we hung out and i cried like a baby for a couple hours and he made me feel much better (even if it didnt really seem like it). i am lucky to have a friend like him. not many people enjoy hanging out with depressed girls who are trashed on a monday and are wimpering/crying A LOT. good times.

apperantly i passed out and woke up around 1am with victoria shouting "drunk ass" at me. which is exactly what i want to hear of course. i mean, who DOESNT love being called an ass? i know i do!

i drove steve home and we stopped by taco bell. which made me miss cole so i called her up to see how she was because it had been a while. we talked till 2am and then i went to sleep.

p.s. clueless is the best movie of all time
p.p.s. my new favorite phrase is "fuck off"

buttless pants?

weekend in ann arbor wasnt too shabby. i got kinda stressed out on sunday. which i dont really understand. i was just in a funk, as they say. anyway.

we take off from madison on friday. trip itself went fine. stopped by in kalamazoo (the cutest city ever) and had some tastey hippie food co-op portabella soup. we arrived at univ. of michigan. set up our shit. and went to the BEST diner EVER! called the fleetwood. some guy but you can see the fleetwood in the background. and outside the fleetwood (no snow when we were there). it was awesome. you can still smoke in michigan (apperantly) in restuarants which was great so i had some "hippie hash" and it was gross but awesome and some shitty coffee and a cigarette. it made me so happy. AND they were playing crappy thrash metal in the background. i was in heaven.

saturday was ok. didnt do a whole lot at the bookstore. (oh yea, p.s. i was there with rainbow selling books.. thats what the whole point was). a little later in the day it started to pick up (as in WE starting picking up) and we had a bookstore 80s dance party where i discovered that i can dance JUST like molly ringwald in the breakfast club. we played zine libs and listened to prince. it was good. after that we went to some bar with a killer jukebox and once again, made our way to the fleetwood.

sunday. yea like i said. i was in a funk. i think i was getting depressed because i was so damn close to canada and just couldnt quite make it there. yea. just depressing. a couple people would talk over me at times/have absolutely no interest in what i was saying but did a bad job hiding it and i cant stand that. i know i'm not as smart as some, but i dont think i'm completely stupid either. whatever... anyway. but i did read a really awesome book! and another HALARIOUS one ...but we packed up and headed out around 7. we had dinner at jerusalem garden (orgasmicly awesome mediterranean food) . and drove back to madison arriving at 2am. not bad, i dont think.

p.s. we were there with boxcar books! awesome...

i decided to stop obsessing over a certain someone and realize that miracles don't happen. i'll find another person as cool as they are. i need to start being realistic.
