It seems that this time is better than last time. More strong casts!

Million is going to follow their previous style, releasing the Dream schoolgirl theme. And it's only part 1. So that means there will be part 2 after the contest.

Following by Dream Gakuen 10 in last year, Moodyz will release this series as well in this year: Dream Gakuen 11!

Worth to be mentioned, that is, Glayz! OMFG! Those actresses are European beauties! That's freaking awesome!

And now.....about the king of the kings, S1! It's not a compilation this time. It's not consists of old scenes. It's brand new theme! Brand new tactic. It's a harem movie!!!!!!!! The premise of the S1 video is nice but as always with S1 it will be runined with horrible camera work and direction. A shame.
I prefer the harem movie from Moodyz, mainly because it includes Rio Kitajima apparently.


Don't get the deal with Glayz...I mean...this is about Asian girls, in a national Porn competition right? What do I want with European girls then? Then I can also watch Euro porn...but I guess it will appeal to the average Japanese male.

I find the line-up as a whole not as spectacular as last year's but it's still solid.

Ahhh... the annual AV Open... I was wondering when this one was coming around!

Well another well rounded lineup of movies this year, once again I think S1 will win it. I mean come on... A movie with Sora, Honoka, Yuma, and Akiho in harem action?? You gotta be kidding me....

But actually the one that caught my eye the most was Natural High's "Real World Amsterdam". The setting is interesting and the girl looks sexy as hell... Maybe it'll just be hot one on one action, but that's my favorite style anyway. I'd really like to check that one out.

Hibino studio's one caught my attention too.... Mai Hanano, Yuki Touma, and Riko Tachibana in the same movie! Seems like Mai and Yuki like to work together a lot, they have released several videos together.... the Maxing one "Who are You?" looks interesting to me too... I like her look.

Anyway, we shall see what happens.... ;)

I'm currently getting the ISO(my first ISO too) for S1's entry since i've already gone past my download quota and my ISP hasn't disconnected me to shape my download speeds yet :P

On a related note, does anyone know if there difference in quality like between the AVI and actual DVDs?I can watch some DivX stuff on my DivX DVD player and for anime it looks really great. However from the JAV AVIs i've seen, the video isn't quite clear but i'm not sure if that's because of the original video source ie. since it's porn, the video won't be very clear.

Seriously man.... I will never see the appeal of those nasty JAV's... I don't understand, every time a studio takes the time and effort to showcase great beauties in a gorgeous setting, make it classy, sexy, some other studio has to enter a nasty scene of that sort into a competition... Is it really preferable to some Japanese viewers to see those type of things as opposed to scenes where the girls are shown in a beautiful and sophisticated way? Don't you guys think that it takes more skill to showcase these women in a more respectful way, to do classy and sensual videos, than to stoop down to that level? Girls are beautiful, and we watch vids to appreciate that beauty and sexiness... At least I do. Why ruin it?

Man, that S1 video totally emphasized everything I don't like about S1 and JAV in general - exaggerated and artificial screaming, messy direction (and really, how hard can it be not to **** up a POV video?) sex so softcore that you can barely call it penetration...

Today, I went to AV Open site for last review. And I found out they put an apologize notice on their website:

The AV Open authority figured out that SOD has been using dirty tactic in this competition. It's been confirmed that SOD was buying 16000 copies of the Kotono's video in order to boost up their sale during the competition. (from Tokyo-Sport news) In short, SOD was cheating, by buying their own entry during the AV Open 2007.:miserable:

On 30/8, SOD has been officially disqualified from the competition, their prize has been given back to the authority, and their position has been removed from the rank.

So, in other words, S1 got the 1st place in AV Open 2007.

i would have preferred s1 or million to win due to sheer number of top (and relatively good) actresses ...such an assembly of talent does not occur very often...

i was disappointed that million and real placed so low...i also had high hopes for hibino's entry with riko tachibana, yuki touma, and mai hanano but i was disappointed by the plot...

as far as genres go, i prefer a cast of top actresses over more common themes, such as a single actress being abused by a multitude of guys, interracial, or introducing new actresses...

i agree that s1 had the stronger cast against million...but i like million's entry primarily because of riko tachibana...i was disappointed that million didn't place well...

riko's so hot just by herself...but her hotness is increased exponentially by the presence of other actresses by the fact that she is a good leader...the way she tells the other girls what to do makes her even hotter...

A fledgling adult movie award respected by some of Japan's biggest name fans of the genre is in jeopardy after one of the business's most prominent players was caught cheating, according to Spa! (11/13).

The AV Open awards prizes to blue moviemakers whose stick flicks have achieved the best sales.

Following the resounding success of the first AV Open, expectations were high for the second event as organizers signed up prominent porn fans to act as judges, including New York Yankees slugger Hideki Matsui, comedian auteur Hitoshi Matsumoto and author Lily Frankie.

But the event's credibility has been seriously damaged after Soft on Demand Create, one of the industry's biggest companies, got more exposure than it gives when it was revealed to have been buying up massive loads of its own movies to try and grab all the gongs.

"The AV Open was created to try and put some spark into a flaccid industry, but the SOD Create scandal has had the effect of casting a pall over the reliability of the entire adult video industry," adult video market writer Kemuta Otsubo tells Spa!

When the Second AV Open ball was held in late July, the biggest stars of the clitteratti decked themselves out in all their finery to attend, but the Net had already been abuzz for weeks with rumors of SOD Create acting in an underhand manner.

"What SOD Create had done was arrange for people to buy its movies from adult shops across Japan. They couldn't get employees to purchase them because it would be way too suspicious, so the company even employed handymen to do the job for them," Otsubo says. "They apparently bought 16,000 videos, outlaying a 'strategic budget' of 6,000 yen apiece for each purchase. But there was too much fishy business going on for them to get away with it, as some receipts handed to organizers showed that there were times when a single buyer was purchasing 100 identical titles at the same time."

SOD Create entries were eventually disqualified from the competition. SOD founder Ganari Takahashi's shadow is looming large over the scandal.

"Ganari Takahashi, who built up the huge SOD Group of Companies, knew absolutely nothing about what was going on, but his influence on the scandal is undeniable," Otsubo says. "Ganari was the mentor of all of the top executives at SOD Create, and instilled in them the will to win at any cost. That places them under enormous pressure. Even if they aren't the most talented of people, with a boss screaming at them daily that they can achieve whatever they try, they'll go out to please the boss, even if it means breaking the rules to do so."

It seems the AV Open's future may be doomed, even as it had appeared on the verge of giving the industry a shot of much-needed respectability.

"Organizers are saying they're going to put on the award the same way again next year, but I think it'll be tough for them to do that," Otsubo tells Spa! "Other major makers like SI and Moodyz have already showed signs of distancing themselves from the event. And then there's the AV Grand Prix planned for next year, where organizers say they have an unprecedented 77 companies signed on in what would make it the industry's biggest award event. I think the AV Open is at a crisis point. Working in its favor was its prompt reaction to the SOD Create scandal. And, as an adult video fan myself, I'd like to see it survive." (By Ryann Connell)
