St Johnstone gained revenge for a bruising defeat at Firhill in September with a comfortable score line that flattered 10-man Partick Thistle.
Defender Stuart McCaffrey lashed the ball home from 12 yards to put the Perth outfit ahead after 15 minutes.
Paul Sheerin denied Thistle by clearing Liam Buchanan's header off the line.
Sheerin had a penalty saved by Jonny Tuffey before Liam Craig scored from the spot, Steven Milne poked in a third and Simon Storey was sent off.
