History
NPU was established by late Mr. Junichiro Katayama and Koutaro Uchiyama (present Vice Piresident) in 2002. They tryed to find cooperative politicians and at first contacted Representative Hajime Ishii who was at that time a member of the House of Representatives and a vice president of the Democraic Party. He organized "Network Business Dietmen League" and assumed the honorary president of the League. At the same time, he appointed Representative Yukichi Maeda, as the secretary-general and Representative Yoshio Maki as the deputy secretary-general.

While NPU had steadily growing, on march 1, 2004, Representalive Maeda made a question at the budget committee of the House about network business. He was sucussful to get the positive response by Mr. Shoich Nakagawa, the Miniter of Economy and Industry to acknowledge this industry to be an important distribution measure for the whole Japaness economy. Representative Maede also requested the ministry to carry a field reserch on this industry.

In May, 2004, Representative Kenji Yamaoka, presentry the chairman of finance committee of the Democratic Panty became the president of Network Business Dietmen League.

In February, 2005, Representative Maeda made a question at the budget committee of the House, following up the field study by the ministry and requesting a legislarion for protection and development of network business industry. He also pointed mishandling of National Life Center for its obscure claim counting against network business.

In March, 2006, Representative Maeda made the theid consecutive question at the budget committee and found some progess in such as claim counting and ministrial recognition of this industry. Followed by his question, the Ministry of Economy and Industry announced the result of its field study in june, 2006. According to its report total sales of the industry was \11.2 billion and the number of people involved was 21.9 million. Representative Maeda requested the contineous field study.

In July, 2006, Mr. Masayasu Ueno, the former CEO of shaklee Japan, became the president of NPU.

In october and november, 2006, the town meetings for NPU members and prospects were held at Tokyo and Sapporo.
