India Hazira LNG capacity rises to 3.6 mln T/yr

NEW DELHI, July 9 (Reuters) - The head of the India unit of Total (TOTF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), Christian Chammas, said on Wednesday that the capacity of the LNG terminal at Hazira in western India has been increased to 3.6 million tonnes a year.

The terminal, in which Royal Dutch Shell (RDSa.L: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and Total hold stakes, earlier had a capacity of 2.5 million tonnes.

"I have been told that the capacity has been increased to 3.6 million tonnes a year," he told reporters. (Reporting by Nidhi Verma, Editing by Mark Williams)
