Mijares stops Sasakul in 3!

Unified WBC/WBA super flyweight world champion Cristian Mijares (35-3-2, 15 KOs) scored a third round TKO over Chatchai Sasakul (64-4, 39 KOs) to retain his belts on Saturday night at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. Mijares was in command the entire way, dropping the 38-year-old former WBC flyweight champion at the end of round two and again at 1:25 of the third stanza. Sasakul beat the count but was unable to continue.


In other notable action, unbeaten former world champion Koki Kameda (19-0, 12 KOs) outpointed Salvador Montes (15-4, 15 KOs) over twelve rounds, middleweight KO artist Ruben "Cloroformo" Padilla (16-2-1, 15 KOs) stopped Wilmer Gonzalez (16-9-1) in round eleven, and "La Guerrera" Ana Maria Torres (16-3-2, 10 KOs) claimed the WBC interim female superfly belt with a one-sided ten round nod over Esmeralda Moreno (13-4, 4 KOs). Scores were 99-91, 99-91, 98-91.
