Incredible! I just love the darkness. 6
minutes and it's still feeling dark -- that
filter is something else. I also find it
terribly ironic that your one exposure took
longer to enjoy the view than most of the
passers-by...

Black canyon -- This is Lake Louise in Banff.
Jon -- You're right! :-)
Ben -- I know what you mean. The more I get
into wading through streams and rivers and
getting to difficult places, the more I want
to just touch or step through water I don't
even have to. It's a different thing.
Immersion. Just makes it that much better.
Chemophilic -- Perhaps. I used my level, so
it's mathematically straight. I think the
10mm fishes the middle a bit though, so
there's a gentle hump.
Thanks everyone! :-) I really appreciate
all your comments. It's great to hear what
everyone else thinks.

It's beautiful, Ara. The blues and greens are
indescribably rich and mysterious. One of the
great things about photography is that it
beckons us to slow down and try to experience
the landscape fully.

Really outstanding Ara - some of your best.
I really appreciate the fact that you take
the time to stay and really appreciate such a
beautiful spot. That's somehow reflected in
the shot too, taking a long drawn out
exposure. The deep dark tone of the clouds
is amazing - just the type of thing to send
the tourists off on their way, but so
outstanding in the photograph. And the long
exposure on Lake Louise's brilliant turquoise
water achieves a fantastic effect. Just a
fantastic shot Ara!

Very pretty and brooding at the same time. I
admit I was stunned when I heard that
statistic the first time. I love Lake Louise
and visited it as many times as I could
during my brief stay there. Next time I hope
to spend the money and stay at the hotel
there, I think it would be an amazing place
during sunset/sunrise with the tourists gone.

Phenomenal-- I didn't even recognise the

with your words on persisting in a place long

beauty like this, most tourists are
