The quality and taste of xiao long bao (小籠包)from the famous Ding Tai Feng doesn't require any more mention from me :) Each bun is always perfected created, and doesn't break easily when you pick them up with chopsticks. After snipping off the top, the divinely sweet juices of minced pork flows out so you have to be really quick to drink them off. I usually drink a bit of the original juices before adding a little ginger and vinegar to enhance the meaty soup. Ah~ heavenly...
But I digress. The lead of today's post is~~~~ Cucumber! Yes, the humble cucumber.
The crunchily fresh Japanese cucumber is smashed slightly to absorb a rather oily sauce that contains garlic, chilli, soy sauce and don't know what else. The result? A refreshing and addictive side dish that I love. The cucumber is already slightly sweet by itself, so the spicy and savoury combination works very well. Forgot the price of this dish, but I think it doesn't cost more than S$3.
Try it next time :)

I must say that although I am not impressed by eveything served at Ding Tai Feng, I am rather impressed by the little dishes of xiao cai~
普通に行っていればきっと心地よかったんだと思います^^;
