Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line 東京湾アクアライン

このポスト日本語のバーシオンなしですw アクアラインだけの情報を書いてますからw

We had planned to visit the Mother Farm in Chiba, and Mr S suggested that we take the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line.

The Aqua-line was built in 1997, and links Kawasaki in the Kanagawa Prefecture to Kizarazu in Chiba. Quoting Wikipedia, "With an overall length of 14 km, it includes a 4.4 km bridge and 9.6 km tunnel underneath the bay - which is the longest underwater tunnel for cars in the world." The tunnel is about 50m deep, if I recall correctly.

There is an artificial island at the bridge and tunnel cross-over, called "Umi hotaru", or literally translated as "Sea Firefly". It has some restaurants and some places to take pictures. For more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Wan_Aqua-Line

The toll to use this Aqua-Line is quite expensive - it cost us 3000yen. However, the experience of being in this really fantastic tunnel is priceless. I couldn't stop marvelling at how wonderful this construction and the Japanese people are.

Sさん、アクアラインを見せてくれて、ありがとうございました>< こんな立派なトンネルを作れて、日本人すばらしいです!
