Photojournalist Kyoichi Tsuzuki has recently suggested that the gaudiest and kitschiest love hotels be made into World Heritage Sites.

Reporter Ryann Connell says that, "Fans of Japan's love hotels have sufficient reason to fear for their future, as the flashy rooms filled with mirrors, blazing lights and other outrageous adornments are fast becoming a thing of the past."

Some of the proposed hotels:
* Geihinkan (Kawasaki)
* Fuki (Kyobashi, Osaka)
* Alpha Inn (Tokyo)
