Can't say as i've tried this but if i was still on AOL i think i would.

http://communicator.aol.com/

The site there doesn't quite make it clear, but as well as providing a method to access your email in a more traditional email client (could access several screen names email at once as well as other pop3 boxs) It aparently allows you to connect to AOL without the need for the traditional aol Client interface.

So no forced default browser no forced aol content crap. You couls choose to use IE, Firefox, mozilla, opera any method you like to browse wioth as your default. ace.gif

Makes AOl the best Dial up option available i think (in the Uk at any rate).

Naw, AOL could never be the best dialup ISP in any country in the world other than ones they may have a monoply over.

It's way too difficult to cancel a trial AOL account as it is.

If you want unobtrusive dialup, try Zen, or Demon, or even Freeserve (oh sorry, Le Wanadoo). icon_mrgreen.gif

Well i dunno about now but last i knew, when i used it, it was the best price by far. No restrictions for a flat 15£ fee per month. Last i knew only tiscali offered a similar service.

But it's AOL! Which means, get this:

America On-Line (the acronym doesn't even bloody work!).

Well, if the acronym doesn't work, it doesn't exactly give much hope for the service does it?

Plus it's owned by the largest media corporation in the world, Warner Brothers, who gave JMS a hard time by saying that B5 will only have 4 series, and then at the very last minute, change their mind thereby forcing JMS to write extra stuff that he wasn't expecting to write.

And didn't Warner Bros create that blasted Bugs Bunny character?

EDIT: They really do not need more money.

EDIT2: Support your local ISP!

Well i've since discovered it doesn't do as i had read it did. You have to have the aol client open first for it to work /

So no matter the company it's crap icon_biggrin.gif

Well, in some ways it's good i suppose still if you want to check all your screen names emails at once.
