I had a bunch of computers listed in My Network Places from when I used to
be on a network. I am now no longer on a network (except for my DSL, which is just my internet connection), and want to remove them and detect any computers that are currently on my network (which would be none other than me, since I'm not connected to a network). How do I do this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -- Nathan Sokalski njsokalski@hotmail.com www.nathansokalski.com |

Put a checkmark in "automatically search for network and printers" Open my network places, view/refresh. It's safe to delete the shortcuts that no longer exist. Dave |

I think you misunderstood what I wanted it to do that it was not doing. I
want it to automatically delete the shortcuts that no longer exist, as well as add any new ones. I already have "automatically search for network and printers" checked, but if I understand correctly (I could be wrong here), that finds new network devices, but not new users (I know that it didn't get rid of the non-existing users that were already there, whether it finds new ones I had no way to test). -- Nathan Sokalski njsokalski@hotmail.com www.nathansokalski.com "davexnet02" <davexnetzerotwo@hooya!.com> wrote in message news:kj2lj0pavr8t9kcpvbv71ll6qtbukrss2g@4ax.com... > On Sat, 4 Sep 2004 22:48:07 -0400, "Nathan Sokalski" > <njsokalski@hotmail.com> wrote: > >>I had a bunch of computers listed in My Network Places from when I used to >>be on a network. After deleting everything from "My Network Places", you need to delete the
"WorkgroupCrawler" registry key.
