UNT wins Best School Award in national design competition
DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Communication design students from the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design earned scholarships and cash awards totaling $19,775 at two conferences in March and April including the Best School Award this weekend at the Dallas Society of Visual Communicators 4th Annual National Student Show and Conference. The $1,000 award went to the university whose students exhibited the highest quality of overall work. Eighteen UNT students also won 23 individual awards and scholarships, competing against 2,200 entries from 52 colleges and universities in 28 states. Altogether, UNT students and the communication design program received $13,875 in awards and scholarships at the DSVC conference. For more information, visit http://www.dsvcstudentshow.org/. UNT professor's work selected for National College Dance Festival
Professor Shelley Cushman's "En I Me," a dance about war, was selected to be performed at the National College Dance Festival in June in New York. A benefit performance to raise money to send 12 UNT student dancers to New York to perform the work.
