Travel safe

There are a number of precautions that you as a customer can take to ensure that your journey is pleasant and hassle-free.

	Check train times and any connections before you leave, and log onto www.cityrail.info for the latest trackwork information.
	Carry a phone card, spare change or mobile phone
	Travel near the guard’s compartment
	When going to and from the station, avoid dark alleys, tunnels and paths
	If you are travelling at night, utilise the Nightsafe area (painted blue on the platform) which lines you up with the carriage closest to the guard
	If there are other passengers on the train then sit near them, not by yourself
	If you experience any problems protect yourself first, as your property can always be replaced but you can’t
	Don’t touch an unattended bag and report it to CityRail staff

Most importantly, remember that our staff are here to help. Report anything of an anti social nature to a Transit Officer or Police Officer. In an emergency, utilise one of the 700 Emergency Help Points throughout the network.
