Hi Peter, I have to say you did a poor interviewing job. As a media worker, instead of asking and listensing, you rudely interrupt the other person, did not allow him to finish.I have never seen any TV show anchor like you before. Your 'special' interview way will make CBC a 'work class' TV channel!
Posted by: Justin | April 10, 2008 05:59 PM
Hi Peter,
You lost my repect with your interview with the Chinese Embassador, because you are completely biased on your report.
Do you know that Tibet is part of China when you asked why not China sit down and talk with Dalai Lama and his " Country"?
Did you see a "demonstrator" in Paris attack a wheel chaired torch bearer? He was attacking a young lady on WHEEL CHAIR, you got no comments?
Did you see the rioters in Lahsa burning shops, beating innocent people? You have no comments?
What you did was to tell people Tibet is a country,
What you did was showing people the Nepal police beating monks while inverviewing Chinese Embassordor.
What a misleading actions you did!
Think about it!

Hi, Peter,
I liked your show, but I am really disappointed at your ignorant and arrogant in this "interview". You referred Tibet as a country and you interrupted your guest at least 5 times within a 4 minutes interview.
Next time if CBC will host a discussion or debate about any China related topics, please don’t only bring those so called experts like Brian Stewart who is lack of basic historical knowledge about China. According to Statistics Canada’s 2006 census, there are 1.3million Chinese-Canadians, and many of us(like myself) have lived in both countries, why don’t you let our voice be heard?
Btw, I know that you are coming to Western to accept an honorary degree, congratulations on your achievement but you do need to apologize for the mistake you made.

Hi, ...Peter,
Remember, Tibet to China is Quebec to Canada.
Posted by: Shane | April 10, 2008 03:49 PM
I am not surprised the this CBC host thinks and says Tibet a "country" as that is what most Canadians intend to think and say regardless of the fact which some of them know. If i were that host, i would feel humiliated. The interview showed clearly his ignorance but what is more embarrasing is not his ignorance, but his arrogance of the ignorance.

Hi Peter, honestly I have to say you need to resign your job and find another job nothing related with media.
You need to be a knowledgeable person to work for CBC and other media company. You need to know the history and report the truth. Also you cannot put your own opinion on the topic! Every time when I watch your program, your behavious makes me feel sick. Ok, let me ask you, do you really know the history about China? Have you ever been to Tibet? You call Tibet a country so is it means you also call Quebec a country? My only hope is you resign your job and disappear from CBC!
Posted by: Candy | April 10, 2008 03:01 PM
Peter,
As a Chinese Canadian, I was so disappointed of you as a human being. Where is your dignity?
Tibet has never been an independent area since the Yuan Dynasty in the 13th century. China is a 56 ethnic country and Tibet is part of China! I shoudl use what you most Canadian always say "Face the history and get over it"!!!
Shame on you, CBC!

Nothing makes me chuckle more than listening to the ambassador of a country that had a “Great Leap Forward” and a “Cultural Revolution” publicly accuse the international media of being biased. I suppose because China’s CCTV is such a bastion of objective journalism. Welcome to international civil society China. You want to play with the big boys, you get to be criticized with the big boys, just like everybody else.
Is it not the role of journalists to hold governments to task? Come on people smarten up. Well done Mr. Mansbridge!

Hey Peter,
I have few questions for you.
1. When did tibet clam for independenc? give me the date.
2. By whom the independence of tibet was recognized? by Canada?
3. Where are Tibetan embassies? which city? is there a one in Canada?
4. If there's a group of people burning people's properties, robbing banks and store, wandering around in the city with weapons in ther hands and hurting or killing people? what will canadan government do?
If you can not answer the first 3 questions, please stop calling tibet a country.

I am a Ph.D student in Windsor University. I am a permanent resident of Canada and I have been in Canada for many years. We were enjoying our lives in Canada in past.
But,in this Tibet show, you really disappointed me. You even call Tibet a country! This shows that how wrong you were misleaded.
Or you meant to do that and you have dirty purpose when you spoke that.
If you represent majority of Canadians'view, I would say, I am very disappointed about Canadians.
We came to Canada for justice, for better life, for knowledge, for understanding etc,
we are NOT here for bias, for color-glass-view of Chinese and China.
But after watching your Tibet show and many negative reports about China in CBC, my heart become cold.
Right now, my friends and I are really re-consider if we should keep staying in Canada.
I am really really dissappointed about this show in CBC.

Hi Peter,
When you said in the interview "your country (China) sit down with his country (Tibet)", you fail to keep CBC as a neutral media instead of a biased media. As a Chinese Canadian, I understand SOME tibetians, canadians, and/or other ordinary people address Tibet as a country. But you are not just an ordinary Canadian! You should know that Chinese people believe Tibet was, is and will always be PART of China. We believe it especially after we leaved China and studied the history here. From the interview, you obviously knew that Dalai himself wanted autonomy recently. Did you intentionaly say Tibet's a country? Did you know lots of Chinese Canadians are disappointed because the biased media?
Posted by: Amy | April 10, 2008 11:20 AM
Hi Peter, I have been living in Canada for 5 years. I was impressed by the kindness and warmheart of Canadian in past five years.
But, I think what you were doing in this show cann't represent the majority of Canadians. You or your boss in CBC are trying to mislead civilians.
you lost my respect in this show. I thought that you are a knowledge person and objective. But in this show, you even call Tibet is a country! So you can see how you were misleaded by Dalai Lama. Dalai Lama is a liar. He always speak different to CHinese and Canadians on a same thing.
Also, "crackdown" is really offensive word in this title.
If Chinese policemen didn't stop the riots, more ordinary people would be killed including ordinary Tibetans. Why CBC doesn't report there were 5 ~~18 years old killed in the riot?
Why you are so biased? Are you just simply follow CNN and BBC?You think Canada is part of Bratain or US?That is a shame!
You want to creat anger in Chinese community in Canada?
Also,I would encourage people to think deeply: why should we connect Olympic games with politics? Is there some forces behind this kind of protest for their personal purpose, but with a beautiful excuse?Like in 2003, almost everyone was convinced by medias that Iraq had "dangerous" weapons and we should started the war. After 5years, after the death of 5000 young soldiers and half million Iraq civilans, now we are clear most people were mislead by biased media. And we were "used" by very small amount dirty people.
Are we being "used" again?

I think you need to do sth. to correct the mistake of amazing low level addressing Tibet as a country. I am still wondering if you are a qualified interviewer sitting on the screen representing CBC. To be frank this is not a minor issue. Be smart and do apologize to the public is the right way for you, my honest suggestion.

I watched your interview with respected Chinese Ambassidar Mr. LuYuMin.
I kept asking myself, Is there anything wrong with your mind? You did not know what you were doing? Very rude your manner was I have to point it out. I felt sick with your behavior.
I can not watch any CBC with you on the screen when I am having my dinner as I used to enjoy doing before. Please help return the joy watching CBC newsworld at dinner to me.

Peter:
As a faculty member in political science, I was disappointed by the whole exchange, below the usual level of interviews on the National. It did not bring the best of both the Ambassador and Peter. Granted, the Ambassador was not an effective communicator for a Canadian audience. But Peter was unduly aggressive, repeatedly interrupting the Ambassador and going too far with the wording chosen. I am concerned about the growing gulf between Western opinion and Chinese public opinion, including Chinese Canadian opinion. If even Chinese Canadians are rallying around the flag and feeling that press coverage is way off the balanced middle, something is going wrong. The long-term cost could be high. The interview last night did not help anyone.

Perhaps if Chinese citizens were FREE to type into their internet search engines the words DEMOCRACY,FREEDOM, PROTEST,TIANANMEN, TIBET,FALUN GONG OR HUMAN RIGHTS their reputation -seemingly what concerns the CCP MOST-would improve around the world! However due to blind adherence of their own dogma & ignorance of criticism, people in free countries won’t buy the LEAD tainted party line of NO QUESTIONS WE’RE RIGHT!

As many of you do not know, the Chinese did offer a moderate proposition in late 1970's, very much what Dalai XIV want today. But then Dalai XIV wanted full independence as the Chinese economy was weaker and diplomatic influence little. Now as the circumstances change and Tibetans increasingly assimulated and secular. Diplomatically, the Beijing administration really can't say, "We did offer what Dalai wanted earlier. Just he didn't take it. Now the opportunity has expired." But personally, I think this is exactly what happened and Dalai XIV is more to blame than Beijing.

I just want to thank Peter Mansbridge for his skill in this interview. I think only a person with his experience could manoever through in such a dedicated way. I hope in my lifetime I can see a Tibet that respects the interests of the Tibetan people and a Chinese government that respects people and human rights. Thank you. Canadians are lucky to have someone like Peter Mansbridge doing these interesting interviews and getting through them, Mr. Shumin was not that helpful!

Quote: "Dalai Lama, a man of peace, a voice of moderation and wisdom"
For someone who has never been taught modern science and literature, world history and politics, I consider him lacking a proper education. Dalai XIV was born in 1935 yet received a medieval-like religious education in one of the most underdeveloped and occlusive place at the time. Personally, I consider him ignorant. As of morality, he has place his personal interest ahead of Tibetans' interest. Promoting Tibetan culture and religion is merely a way to restore his former privileges. He seems to care little about the economic progress made in Tibet in the past few decades in his absence. Thus I consider him at the very least unpatriotic (to Tibet) if not selfish. Personally, I have very little respect for him as an individual and as an atheist, I couldn't care less about his "spiritual superiority", if there is such a thing. I simply don't understand why Canadian and the western world in general are so fascinated with oriental spiritual fugures. (Not just Dalai XIV. The Americans did not abolish the Japanese emperor after WWII partly because they were in such awe.) Once I read in Toronto Star that 48% of Americans reject any form of (biological)evolution. Probably I should have just as little respect for the general public as I have for Dalai XIV.

Hi Peter,
I like your program better than CNN. But I have to let you know that yesterday night in the interview with Chinese ambassador, you lost yourself as a neutral correspondent. You are so rude, and said that Tibet is a country. Can you clarify yourself, it is a mistake or you have no ideal about Tibet’s history, or that is what you want to say no matte what is truth?
You may want to embarrass China and Chinese people in the world wide. But you make yourself disgraced. I hope you do not feel arrogant in frond of Chinese. We all are the same creature with same sin.

To Mr. P. Mansbridge,
Your interview with the Chinese Ambassador was horrible in my opinion. Your behaviour was extremely rude; you interrupted him many times, you didn't let him finish answering your questions and it made me shocked and wondered how this could be Peter Mansbridge, the guy who started out a fluke but turned famous. I've never seen you interrupt your guest like that before, and I was outraged. I'm very disappointed in you. I've always thought you were a very good newscaster; however, I was proven wrong. Please do your research. Tibet was, is and always will be part of China. I would like to say several things on my mind; however, just because someone else is rude doesn't mean I should be rude.

Minority groups in China, INCLUDING Tibetans, enjoy far greater privleges than the Han Chinese. ONLY in the western media that we do not see the Tibetans injuring, killing innocent Han Chinese that happen to live in Lhasa. I believe i read the story of a Chinese doctor trying to help an injured Chinese woman and the monk stabbed him to death. It's not a 'crackdown', it's called 'riot control'.
Posted by: Hanz | April 9, 2008 06:40 PM
Hi, Mr Peter,
I wonder how you came up with question "your country (China) sit down with his country (Tibet)", it sounds like that's what Dalai Lama ask for. But according to CNN, MSNBC, what Dalai want in tibet is Autonomy. So it's not logical that he request talk between two countries.
It's like you even twist his idea and it's really misleading for people from both side. Besides, I think there's one crackdown picture taken in Nepal shown in the show which is misleading too.

As hosts of the 2010 Winter Olympics, we should encourage the IOC to cancel the journey of the Olympic Torch... The symbol of this historic event is lost to the 'narrow-minded protesters' on both sides...
Posted by: Olive | April 9, 2008 06:00 PM
I am very disappointed by the biased media coverage towards recent Tibetian "protest". And the Kool Aid crowds didn't bother to get themselves informed. The media has failed to inform the public about the violent riots incited by Dalai Lama against ordinary Chinese. Talk about Human Rights. I guess the girl burnt live by rioters in Tibet is not considered human by our media. I guess millions of dollars worth of goods and properties destroyed by thugs should not be protected, as property right seems an ailent concept to a lot of people here. Today many pro China peaceful demonstrators showed up before dawn way before any protesters in San Francisco. Of course you won't see the coverage in CNN for the other side.
Facts are facts. They are stubbern.
- Tibet has been part of China for hundreds of years. Any talk about independent Tibet is laughable.
- The Chinese government has treated its own Han Chinese citizens far harshly than Tibetians. Tibetians have enjoyed a much more comprehensive "Affirmative Action" than minorities here in US.
Dalai lama wants to return to the fundamentilist slavery rule by himself. It ain't gonna happen. He can set up his own salvery rules in his sactury in India anyway he wants. Spoiling billions of people's joy and once in a life time opportunity of happiness and excitement, is an atrotious act beneath any human value.

Dear Peter,
I was absolutely appalled by the Chinese Ambassador again; with his hard party line, and rude arrogant behaviour on CBC’s The National; as I was when he called the Dalai Lama “a liar “last week ! Mr. Lu Shuman is obviously used to no opposition to promoting Chinese propaganda and; is truly at a loss defending his country’s position when under world scrutiny.
In Vancouver, I have had the privilege of seeing His Holiness the Dalai Lama on his many visits and fully embrace his teachings and; his view of working with his Chinese brothers and sisters to find a dialogue, as war and violence will no longer work anywhere.
The documentary film made by Tibetan Canadian documenting the Tibetan experience of seeing a computer with a message from the Dalai Lama. To view this film in Canada, security guards were present to make sure that no one had a cell phone that; could take a picture of the Tibetans in the film because; they would be imprisoned if their identity were know to the Chinese for looking at a picture of the Dalai Lama and; that fact was pointed to in your broadcast segment with Patrick Brown.
The Dalai Lama was made a Honourary Canadian in Vancouver in 2006 by the Harper Government .I am writing to the Prime Minster and Members of Parliament to look seriously at this issue and now, make a stand for Tibet and its’ people. We as Canadians could help lead the way to show how two cultures can live harmoniously within one large land mass.
I believe after meeting many Tibetans; that they are not Chinese; but they are the Indigenous peoples that have lived in that territory for thousands of years and resemble the Indigenous peoples of the Americas, both North and South. Yet truly, this is not a dialogue about Race but about Justice and Freedom for a peoples who move thorough the world without malice nor violence nor hatred. It was pointed out that even given their oppression and many facing death; Tibetans would never be a suicide bomber and harm others in this manner for their cause.
Therefore, the world has seen this bullying political behaviour before the Olympics of 1936 in Germany under Adolph Hitler.
The question is clear; when do Sports trump Human Rights?
Respectfully yours,

Hi Peter:
In the interview, when you said "your country (China) sit down with his country (Tibet)", Were you referring to what Dalai Lama said? Thanks for what you said. This truly showed what faces Dalai Lama presented to different peoples at different times. You do believe that Dalai Lama is a “peaceful” man and only seek “autonomy”. And also somehow you believe that his “autonomy” is a country! Do you know that his peaceful face drove his followers to organize and start violence in Tibet on 3.14.2008 and kill innocent Chinese people over there.

Hi, Peter, I watch the National every night and I found yesterday's interview is a bit disturbing. The interview was more accusing approach and rude, maybe you took the stand before you did the interview??? Brain's statement about "Tibet was a country until 1951" was totally wrong. I suggest you Google TIBET to get some basic info when you prepare your program.BTW, I always thought you were the best anchor in the western media industry, until yesterday.

Perhaps China has been isolated too long. Many of us have observed his kind of deception by governments for decades. Do they really think they can vilify the Dalai Lama - a man of peace, a voice of moderation and wisdom? Chinese officials only make themselves appear dishonourable by behaving in this way.
I am one of the millions of people around the world who has been moved by the life and teachings of the Dalai Lama to work with my own mind and heart to become more self-aware, to down-regulate negative emotions, to cultivate compassion, to seek peaceful resolutions to conflicts with others. My suggestion to the government of China – make this your shining hour. Impress the world. Be wise. In this time of crisis, seek peace through a sincere dialogue with the Dalai Lama. Negotiate self-rule and cultural autonomy for the people of Tibet, within the territory, protection, and alliance of the People's Republic of China. To speak noble words about harmony that ring hollow will only add to the sadness and suffering of the world.

The CCP has refashioned Chinese and Tibetan history and has spoonfed it to its people for the last 50 years. 2 of their main claims to Tibet are through the Yuan(the Mongols) and Qing(Manchus, which was not based on subordination of Tibet to China) dynasties. Where their argument faceplants is that during both these periods China, Tibet, Korea, etc were ruled by outsiders. They WERE NOT Han. The CCP will have us believe that these are Chinese dynasties when in fact that is not the case. So given this argument are Korea, Vietnam, and parts of Central Asia also part of China? You know a communist regime has been 'effective'when we have to teach Chinese their own history. And does Lu Shumin(China's Ambassador to Canada) actually have any ability whatsoever to present facts? All I see is a man who rants and talks in circles. It is also very disturbing to see some the vocabulary being used by some Chinese to describe Tibetans...very similar to racist descriptions of Jews in the WW2. Is the Chinese government capable of seeing the error in its ways? I think not.
Posted by: Andries | April 9, 2008 01:53 PM
Dear Peter,
In last night National's report about the Tibet riots, you tried to present a balanced view of the two sides to the viewers but, in my opinion, it was not. Anyway, I am glad that you did not try to distort most of the facts like CNN or BCC.
Just an analogy for you to think about the current situation that China has to face.
If (only if) our Chief from the First Nations claimed that the early European settlers who occupied their motherland by force should leave because the First Nations wanted to be free from Canada. This was a repeated demand. But for good reasons, this demand had been rejected by Ottawa. So the natives was very angry and they took this good opportunity (the Olympic Games) to start a riot, killed some innocent white Canadians living in the land belonging to the natives so as to draw the outside world's attention. The RCMP intervened by cracking down the riots. The Chief then accused Canada of suppression and asked the international community to pressurize Ottawa to concede to their demands.
What would you think if this happened? What would Ottawa do?
Also, I don't think China will bow down to the boycotting of the opening ceremony of the Olympic games. Nor will Canada do so if similiar events arise here.

Dear Mr. Peter Mansbridge,
Do you think Tibet is a country?
As a famous person working for the media for years, you have offended Chinese people by your biased conclusion!
Even Dalai Lama himself has claimed that Tibet would NOT be independent as a country!
Maybe you are playing kind of tricky things and made the audience uncomfortable to write this kind of letter to you....if this is what you planned and make yourself attention...if this is your actual plan.. I have to say, this is awkward and make yourself degraded!
Oh... sorry, I thought you are a respectable person!

Peter Mansbridge, you own an apology to Chinese. In your interview with Chinese Ambassador. You call Tiber "A country". I don't know it is a mistake in purpose or just simply from ignorance. Even your foreign minister declare Tiber is not an independant country. Do you think you are smarter than him? As a Chinese Canadian, I thought you were a great anchor. However, tonight your interview with Chinese ambassador Lu Shumin completely changed my mind. I have to point out your ignorance on Tibet issue. The most ridiculous comment you had tonight is that you mentioned Tibet is a country. Do you know that in about 1000 years Tibet is part of China? This is common sense. Tibet was never an independent country. This is a fact. Period.
Find out any old maps and see if Tibet is/was a country. I read maps in many UK castles and musiums.
Anyway, you're still a good anchor.

Dear Mr Mansbridge:
I found your interview with China's Ambassador to Canada distressing in that you did not take the ambassador to task for numerous false statements, distortions, & contradictions in the position of his government. Most specifically the naked paradox that exists when on one hand they state the Dalai Lama is lying when he wishes only autonomy for Tibet, yet they are willing to talk to him on their terms?
How do you have negotiations in good faith when your opening position is your partner in negotiations is a duplicitous liar? A wolf in monks robes?
No, this is about crushing disent in the same way they've been at it since 1951. It's about making clear to Tibet & the World who is boss here.

Mr. P. Mansbridge:
As a Chinese Canadian, I was disappointed of your program broadcasted on Tue, Evening. The invited scholars, or the so called Tibet "experts" in this program showed clearly lack of the basic knowledge of recent Chinese (as well as tibet) history and the regional geography. If this type misleading is delibrate due to some kind of political reason, it certainly has costed your credite as a fair news worker among many Canadian Chineseo like me. If it is "innocent" mistake, then I would like you invite some Chinese Canadian, of course, not those in line with Chinese government, to your program to have a panel discussion of Tibet issue.
I am a professor in Brandon University, and I'd be glad to join the panel discussion if I was invited. I believe my 30 years, rather bitter, chinese experience and my knowledge on this issue, will give your audience an objective, historic view, which will be not the same as the Chinese communist line, also will be different from the "western scholars' views.
Best Regards

What a manipulative rude man. You are a very patient man Peter. Why is it that Lu Shumin is incabable of answering one single question. The Dalai Lama has said time and time again that he seeks cultural autonomy withing China and would like to discuss that with the CCP. And where is the so-called proof of him being the mastermind behind the riots. All they seem to be capable of doing is ranting, lying about the situation and talking in circles.

What I want to say is CBC (or lot of westen medias)mistake or misunderstand on Chinese police and troop. In China, regular policemen on street are not armed. They do not have gun or taser like police in Canada. This maybe the reason, 3.14 riots could not be stopped at beginning. if anything violent happens, government will send armed police that showed in your program. They are in green uniform, which is quite similar to the uniform of Chinese troop.
I do not think CBC wants to mislead the Canadian public or make people misunderstand the situation. So please stop using Nepalese police photos when you talk about Chinese police. Those are in gray uniforms are not Chinese police. The same errors made by european medias already.
I do not think it is easy to convinces you that Tibet has been part of China for 1000 years, which much longer than first european guy stepped in north america land. If you have time please do a research on the history when KMT was in power. It was not too far from now. When KMT left for Taiwan, Communist Party took over the country including Tibet. It does not like what you said in your program.
We respect media and want to see a just and responsible CBC.

Hi Peter,
You lost my repect with your interview with the Chinese Embassador, because you are completely biased on your report.
It's a good side that such a high profile public person to be trapped in a hole he digged for himself.
Just wondering what canadians have studied from schools
Hi Peter, honestly I have to say you need to resign your job and find another job nothing related with media.
You need to be a knowledgeable person to work for CBC and other media company. You need to know the history and report the truth. Also you cannot put your own opinion on the topic! Every time when I watch your program, your behavious makes me feel sick. Ok, let me ask you, do you really know the history about China? Have you ever been to Tibet? You call Tibet a country so is it means you also call Quebec a country? My only hope is you resign your job and disappear from CBC!
Peter,
As a Chinese Canadian, I was so disappointed of you as a human being.
Hi Peter,
I watched your interview with respected Chinese Ambassidar Mr.
Disruption! Sabotage! Outspoken! Truth! The Chinese ambASSadors wind-up string must stretch to Beijing headquarters!
This guy lives in a fantasy Orwellianland! Peace and Harmony with a heavy-handed dose of military dictatorship, disregard for human rights & environmental desecration!!
He’s more disgusted & concerned by protests over a symbolic flame than human rights abuses! Somebody give this tool a lesson on constructing DEMOCRACY!!
Demonstrations are not sabotage ambASSador! They’re a way for citizens WHO CAN express their anger & disbelief @ a government, especially one run by indoctrinated maoists!!!
What will you do this summer Mr. AmbASSador?
If anyone really cares in democratic nations don’t boycott the Olympics, boycott Chinese made products (if any can be found) and the sponsors!
WHEN MONEY TALKS SILENCE IS DEAFENING!!
Peter, you were rude and ignorant. Go back to school or do some research on the history. Learn to respect your guest. I'll never watch your program again.
"The Chinese government is reflecting more than 90% of Chinese people's wish for a unified country!" said Foreign Affair Analyst for CNN tonight.
hi, Peter
Tibet is not a country!!! I am really disappointed about your comments.
Why did Peter Mansbridge interrupt and speak over the Chinese Ambassador so often? To me that was shocking, and completely amateurish for a TV broadcaster. Moreover, his bias was unprofessionally obvious.
Hi Peter,
I like your program better than CNN.
Respectfully yours,
Peter,Please respect all chinese people!!!!!
you are reallly ignorant.
learn more and before your program.
This is an outrage. CBC, please get your facts right. If there is no apology, there will very likely be consequences in the Chinese media against CBC's bias reporting. Please address this and don't ignore it.
Peter:
As a non-Chinese Canadian I simply want to state that the Peoples Republic of China have consistantly demonstrated that they could care less about human beings in Myanmar, Darfur or on your local toy shelf. So who's side should I believe?
However, you should let the man representing that particular totalitarian state complete his sentences. Give your wrist a slap.
Hi Peter,
when you said in the interview "your country (China) sit down with his country (Tibet)", you fail to recognize that Tibet is a part of China. In the later part of the program, Brian Stewart's introduction of Tibet histroy is wrong again. As you and CBC which you represent have such a misconception of Tibet, your special report on Tibet became misleading and distorted. Too sad CBC has lost its credibility.
Peter,
I happened to watch your show last night. Based on my knowledge, Tibet is not a country.

Biased reporting.
Peter, when conducting an interview, whether you like them or not, try to maintain a civil, canadian approach to news gathering. You have adopted the american methods:Interrupt,Don't let the interviewee answer, talk loudly and at the same time, show disdain. Have you been to the Ann Coulter school of TV journalism?
Dear Peter,
In last night National's report about the Tibet riots, you tried to present a balanced view of the two sides to the viewers but, in my opinion, it was not.
I used to regard you as the best correspondent in CBC!
During the interview with Chinese Ambassador, you interrup him rudely serveral time and acted very impatiently. Is this what a professional journalist should do?
Peter Mansbrige, I urge you to apology to Chinese.
The most obvious question to th e Chinese Ambassador that was not asked by Peter - why are the media and human rights groups not allowed into Tibet???
As a Chinese Canadian, I thought you were a great anchor. However, tonight your interview with Chinese ambassador Lu Shumin completely changed my mind. I have to point out your ignorance on Tibet issue. The most ridiculous comment you had tonight is that you mentioned Tibet is a country. Do you know that in about 1000 years Tibet is part of China? This is common sense. Tibet was never an independent country. This is a fact. Period.
Find out any old maps and see if Tibet is/was a country. I read maps in many UK castles and musiums.
Anyway, you're still a good anchor.
Dear peter:
How about have a debate with ha-Chinese and Tibat talk about their history
Thanks
Hi, Peter
You should not use the picture of Nepal policemen beating the protesters in Nepal with the Chinese map. Second, Tibet was not an independent country as you imagined, please read more history books or just google the old world map published before 1945 by the western countries, thanks.
Well done Peter, I'd love to see you sit down with him for a longer interview.
Peter,
You are so rude
Mr. P.
Hi Peter,
I like you and your program. I almost watch it everytime including the latest one that you interviewed Chinese ambassador.
