Japan's Royals Could Boycott Olympics

Japan's royal family have said they may not attend the Beijing Olympics after several different issues have popped up between Japan and China, as well as the unrest in Tibet. The issues include disputed gas fields and Chinese-made "gyoza" dumplings.

A government official was quoted as saying: "We were planning not to ask royals to go even before the gyoza incident (surfaced in January). It is all the more true now that the Tibetan unrest occurred."

There has been no formal decision made on whether or not the Royal family will attend the Olympics.

  Rest assured...
...that the problems in Tibet are probably nothing to do with it.

I'm cynical, I know, but I'm inclined to believe that the Tibet issue is just an excuse to give them more world-wide credibility and sympathy.

  This doesn't surprise me
Japan & China have had the shits on with each other for centuries. I agree with chiffington, Tibet is just an excuse

  You are right... @chiffington$ Stretch
