Like Madonna, this entertainer prefers to go, professionally, by one name. After his first season with the Seattle Mariners in 2001, the unlikely sex symbol was named Rookie of the Year. As the so-called Michael Jordan of Japan, media scrutiny overwhelmed the spiky-haired Ichiro. In fact, when he married Japanese television personality Yumiko Fukushima in 1999, he was forced to move the wedding locale to Los Angeles to avoid the paparazzi. Though he has embraced his new home, he still gets plenty of lovin' from his native Japan.
