  • Child abuse content traced to Europe down from 19% to 6% on previous year
  • Child abuse content traced to US hosted sites up to 55%
  • Child abuse content traced to Russia up 5% on previous year to 23%
  • 99% of illegal content traced to outside the UK

  • 500,000 Newsgroup images no longer available per UK ISP
  • 73 potentially illegal newsgroup names
  • 24 newsgroups found to be regularly hosting child abuse images
  • Potentially illegal content traced to newsgroups down by 62%

  • 33 pay-per-view websites per week found to be hosting potentially illegal child abuse images
  • 66 websites per week found to be hosting potentially illegal child abuse images.
