SOCCER / WARM-UP MATCH

Thailand face Chonbuk

TOR CHITTINAND

Thailand play their last World Cup warm-up match against the Korean club side, Chonbuk Motors today at Rajamangala stadium. Kick-off is 6pm.

Chanvit Phalajivin, Thailand's coach said it would be very useful to meet the Korean side as they are tall and physically strong just like the Japanese.

Thailand take on Japan in the World Cup qualifier on February 6.

The full Thai team will be in action today led by strikers Teerathep Winothai and Sarayuth Chaikamdee and including Manchester City signings Suree Sukha and Kiatprawut Saiwaew.

Foreign based players like Sutee Suksomkit, Datsakorn Thonglao and Nirut Surasiang will also be starting.

''After the match we will name which 22 will go to Japan,'' Chanvit said.

He added it would not be an easy decision as all the players had improved a lot. ''So the match against Chonbuk is important.'' .

Thailand will leave tomorrow and play Japan in Saitama next Wednesday.

Tickets for today's match are available at the stadium priced 100 baht.
