Detroit, Michigan - A new, larger, and uniquely-styled 2004 Nissan Quest minivan made its debut in Detroit on Sunday. Now based on Nissan's FF-L platform which is also used for the Altima, Murano, and Maxima, the new Quest has grown in size to become the largest minivan in the front-wheel drive minivan segment. Nissan says its long wheelbase allows for the widest opening sliding doors in its class, and its wide cargo area will allow carrying of 4x8-foot materials on the floor with the liftgate closed.

The Quest's interior includes 3rd row flat-folding seats and unique 2nd row flat-folding seats. Optional are a 10-speaker Bose audio system (the first ever Bose system developed for a minivan), a DVD Entertainment System and a new Skyview roof glass panel system that creates a bright and airy feeling throughout the cabin.

Powering the front-wheel drive Quest is a 230-plus horsepower 3.5 litre DOHC V6 mated to either a 4-speed automatic transmission or 5-speed automatic transmission. The 2004 Quest has a new 4-wheel independent suspension, and 4-wheel vented disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Assist (BA) and Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD).

Ian Forsyth, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada, says the 2004 Quest will be a luxury level minivan, priced between $30,000 and $45,000. The 2004 Quest will be assembled at Nissan's new manufacturing facility in Canton, Mississippi. It's scheduled to go on sale in the summer of 2003.
