Ratings
Update!
Despite
having very little on-air advertising, the seventh
season premiere of Smallville ended up
with slightly over 5 million viewers - very close
to the levels of last season's premiere.
Here's
a look at the overnight-ratings breakdown (source:
Mediaweek). Although Smallville is listed
at #5 for the hour, it should be noted that it's
higher than most of the rest of The CW's line-up
(including the grossly overhyped Gossip Girl)
and it scored well in many of its target demographics.

A
Message From KryptonSite's Webmaster...
Today,
the latest in Titan Publishing's line of Smallville
companion books, this one spotlighting Season
4, begins shipping from online sites. It also
should now be available at bookstores everywhere.
You
might notice the name of the author - Craig Byrne.
That's me! Getting the opportunity to do this
book (and the upcoming Season
5 and Season
6 books) was quite a privilege, and I think
and hope everyone who has liked KryptonSite and
has enjoyed the show will like what's inside.
Inside
the book, you can find exclusive interviews with
the show's writers, producers, cast and crew;
character profiles; excerpts from the Smallville
Ledger and Torch websites; and much more. The
Foreword for the book is written by Annette
O'Toole (Martha Kent)! Annette is awesome,
and it's an honor to have her writing the Foreword.
I'm
hoping all of you will take the time to check
the book out. You
can order it on Amazon.com if there's not
a bookstore near you. Personally, I'd
love it if as many people as possible ordered
this way so my editors and publisher can be
pleased with the order numbers - if it got to
#1 for TV tie-in books I'd be ecstatic. (If
you're in the United Kingdom, try Amazon.co.uk)
And if you have picked it up, please
send me an e-mail and let me know what you
think. I haven't seen a lot of feedback and would
love to know if you liked it!
Anyway,
thanks again for your support of KryptonSite,
and hopefully you'll like the book!
-
Craig!

Shows Added To The KryptonSite Forum!
Ever
since 2001, the KryptonSite Forum has been a
premier location to discuss Smallville...
but did you know there are other TV shows you
can talk about there as well?
We've
added some current and upcoming shows to the mix,
with more on the way. Also, the forums are scheduled

Here
are the new additions to the forum:
Bionic

Doctor
Who & Torchwood: The Whoniverse
- A more organized place to discuss Doctor
Who and its spin-off series - Torchwood
(premiering in the U.S. on BBC America in early
September!) and the Sarah Jane Adventures,
featuring the Doctor's best companion in incredibly
childish situations!
Flash
Gordon - Since a good amount
of people were discussing Eric Johnson's latest
SciFi Channel series, we're giving that one its
own topic as well.
Reaper
- Sam Oliver's parents sold his soul to the
Devil, and now he's featured in his own show every
week on Tuesdays at 9 on the CW! The pilot episode
is directed by Kevin Smith (Clarks, Mallrats,
Dogma, and of course Jay & Silent Bob)
and it's quite entertaining. And of course Missy
Peregrym of Smallville and Heroes
fame is in it!
It's
also time to say goodbye (sort of) to an old friend
- Veronica Mars is cancelled, and therefore,
her
forum has moved to the Morgue. But don't miss
Kristen Bell on Heroes
this Fall!
There
may be some more additions to the forum soon,
so stay tuned! In
addition to those new entries, and of course Smallville,
but there's also space to talk about many other
TV shows! Below are a few of them:
Current
Shows
Heroes
- Grey's
Anatomy - Jericho
- Prison
Break - Supernatural
- General

Wave
II of Smallville Figures Coming
Five
years since the first wave of Smallville
action figures comes the announcement that another
wave of action figures is due for release in May
2008.
The
figures planned include the show's Justice League
- Clark, Bart/Impulse/Flash, Victor/Cyborg, A.C./Aquaman,
and Ollie/The Green Arrow - plus we hear Bizarro
Clark will also be added to the mix.
Sorry,
it seems we're still not getting figures of characters
like Chloe, Lois, or Lionel. Though me, I want
a Product Placement Pete figure, personally...

Supergirl
Is Cast!
People
Magazine has revealed that Laura Vandervoort
has nabbed the role of Kara, a.k.a. Supergirl,
in the upcoming seventh season of Smallville.
"She's
a combination of beauty, intelligence, a certain
warmth, and great attitude," Smallville
co-creator Al Gough told People. "We've
wanted a character to shake things up. She may
be Clark Kent's cousin, but that doesn't mean
she's going to be the obedient one!"
22-year-old
Vandervoort might be most recognizable to fans
for her role on The N's Instant Star.

"With
