Wondering why your local Best Buy or Wal-Mart sales goons don’t know wtf you are talking about when you mention pre-ordering Hellgate: London? Well, the official Hellgate London website thought this was odd and did some investigation of its own. Here’s what info they dug up:

As if this was any surpise… Although it has been out less than a week, Halo 3 has toppled the long-running champ of Xbox Live, Gears of War. Using Bungie.net as reference, there have been anywhere between 100,000 to 500,000 Halo 3 players online at any given time. 1.5 million unique players have logged in within the last 24 hours alone. Yeah, I think it’s safe to say the new champ is here to stay. Anyway, here’s the top-ten list of 360 Live activity this week according to Major Nelson:1. Halo 32. Gears of War3. Thanks to PS3 Fanboy, we now have a glimpse of what SCE Studio’s Eye of Judgment bundle will look like when it hits store shelves late October. As Chris had covered earlier, the Eye of Judgment bundle will be priced at $70 and include game disc, PlayStation Eye camera, battle mat, 30-card starter deck, and an eight-card booster pack. The bundle certainly sounds like a sweet deal if you can get past the weird factor.

Featuring footage of the ‘Geo Cube’ and the ‘Etna Mode’, these two new trailers for Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness show gamers what to expect when the game is released on October 30th. Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness is a port of the original PS2 game for the Sony PSP. Included is a bonus mode that lets you play the game from an alternative perspective, as well as a plethora of unlockables and multiplayer mode.

On a lovely day in the Mushroom Kingdom, King Bowser invites everyone to his castle and strangely everyone accepts. Once there, Bowser shrinks Mario and the rest of his guests to the size of chess pieces. Now, Mario and friends must gather the power of the stars to restore themselves to normal size and defeat Bowser once and for all in Mario Party DS. Thus begins the newest story in the Mario franchise where you can play single or multiplayer with a your DS buddies.

 Whether you work in the gaming industry, are an avid gamer, or are involved in an anti-gaming crusade, there is one thing we can all agree upon - Halo 3 will be the best-selling game of 2007. After announcing an unprecedented $170 million in loot on opening day alone, Bungie and Microsoft made the launch of Halo 3 the highest-grossing single day launch in entertainment history. Even though this major event is nothing for the gaming industry to sneeze at, the Halo trilogy barely makes a dent in the Top 40 of video game franchises list even if it has currently sold 15 million units - this is even if you add 10 million more units thanks to Halo 3. It still cannot compete with the laudable franchises listed below, which by the way,  I have included my own research and opinions on - just in case anyone asks.
