Our mail app provides genuine end-to-end security for your message contents. Your message is encrypted on the client and will never be transmitted or stored in the clear.
Standards-based and Open Source.
End-to-end encryption and private/public key management is implemented via the OpenPGP protocol. Our source code is published and open for inspection.

Whiteout Mail can be used with your existing email provider over IMAP. Also, coming soon, with an encrypted mailbox hosted by us, offering seamless integration with the app.
Who we are
Our company was founded in 2013 in Munich. Our mission is to provide secure email that is easy to use and runs on all devices. Our products are based on open standards and our source code is published for inspection. We also believe in contributing to existing open source projects that we build upon in our software.
Oliver Gajek
Oliver Gajek previously co-founded Brainloop AG, the leading cloud provider for document security. He loves telling people how to run their startups. Every now and then he will even follow his own advice. In his spare time he reads many books and buys even more.
Felix Hammerl
Felix Hammerl earned his chops on iOS apps for deployment in fine Bavarian automobiles. He believes that beautiful code and a rigorous development process go hand in hand and that you can’t have one without the other. In his spare time Felix bangs the drums and rides all sorts of bikes.
Tankred Hase
Tankred Hase has been working on privacy by design software since 2011 and is a contributor to many Open Source projects. He believes that JavaScript, a Chromebook, and GitHub is all the IT you will ever need. In his spare time Tankred enjoys traveling by backpack to far away places.
