1-Somehow you just need to change the receiver on your gun to change ammo calibers.

2 - Raiders now wait until you're 18 to buy slaves. Can't have no kid slaves in the Commonwealth like F03 or FNV

3 - Apparently raiders accept money from their slaves to be freed, rather than just taking it as their property as their slave is their property and by extension the slaves possessions.

4 - The large mercenary faction attacks all strangers on sight, despite this being the worst business strategy in existence.

5- Ghouls are evidently now immortal, and don't require food, water, or air.

6 - somehow your basic assault rifle in fallout 4 is neatly 30 pounds and looks and acts more like a lmg.

7- it's possible to get to the battle of bunker hill, join and not be hostile to anyone. Despite choosing a side you're still somehow neutral and allowed to watch without harm.

Ghouls have always been immortal, and you could encounter two ghouls in Fallout 2 that had been without water or air for weeks. Of all complaints, this one gets passed around a lot but is the least valid.

Except in FO1 taking the water chip without fixing the pump causes the ghouls in Necropolis to die of thirst. Harland in New Vegas also mentions having to eat radroaches for protien and taking condensation off the water pipes for water.

So how does that explain the Fallout 2 encounters?

Who knows. Fallout 2 was the oddball given that Marcus stated that Super Mutants in it COULD reproduce. The writers later said it was a joke from him. Given who made NV, it's best to take it's word on things as the final truth.

Oh god don't remind me of Billy. That quest was just purely stupid.

I like FO4, NV, and FO3, but I find no fault with your analysis. This is why I have 14 weapon mods.

All very true. Which is sad considering they focused the game more heavily on gunplay and completely revamped weapon modifications.

This is what annoys me the most, in a game full of annoyances. Shooting is a national past time in the US. Where are all the in between guns?

.38 pistol ammunition, but no .38 revolver? Where's the pump action shotgun? Where's the pipe shotgun? The absurdly large calibre handgun? The carbines? The 10mm SMG? An actual assault rifle?

I get that Bethesda aren't into firearms, but they could've spent a day or two watching some Youtube and doing a bit of basic research.

Agreed. For all they put on the weapon modding system, the upgrades are pretty linear with only minor changes through stocks and such. Not to mention some are just objectively worse than regular damage like that burning damage laser barrel mod.

Not to mention bethesda is so focused on AWESOME WEAPON ACTION that they put the ejector port and bolts on the left side of the gun. They focused so much on weapon mods that actual weapon diversity took a major kick in the nuts, especially since NV had such a wide selection of firearms.

Energy Weapons got it the worst, being lumped in with the gun perks and even their upgrades fall short of the guns. Not to mention now it's just "Laser/Plasma Gun" with a single ammo type instead of the varied ones in past games. Being a big user of energy weapons, Fallout 4 utterly fell flat on its face in that regard.

Why is the ejector port and bolt such an issue? It shows Bethesda's new animations, like they wanted. It doesn't affect gameplay, at all. Jesus.

This is definitely something that gets brought up a lot less than other criticisms of FO4. I feel like certain weapons should've been unwieldable (or had certain penalties to damage and accuracy without 7-10 strengths) without PA, like the aforementioned Assault Rifle. I think forgoing a few of the incremental upgrades in exchange for more varieties of small to middle-sized arms would've been fantastic, along with a grenade launcher. That being said, I do think the crafting/naming system made you hold onto weapons for longer and appreciate them a lot more. With weapon mods, they'll often be rather forgettable, not include enough modularity or not do something different enough to vanilla weapons.

I love the design of the assault rifle, 10mm and especially the combat rifle/shotgun

[–]soundtea 1 ポイント2 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Thing is if you like gun design in general then those things are outright abominations. It's as if the word "ergonomics" means nothing to Bethesda.

To clarify, the assault rifle side DRUM MAGAZINE makes absolutely no sense. The sheer weight off the side of the gun would fuck up your aim immensely.

I actually like the gun designs....
