Now, before you get your preconceived notions of furs that many people do have tangling your views of this piece up, read the writing before making a nasty comment about the fandom.
29,771 Furries yapping for 8 Years
Eight years of fluff and this sub never got featured? WOW! Though I guess there's a reason; the folks over at Morning Joe (an MSNBC news show for those unaware) asked this question best: What's a Furry?
On the outside, they're cute, cuddly and all covered in animal fur, scales, sergal stuff, what have you, that'll make your heart warm for them almost instantly. On the inside, they're all people, just like you who show an interest in anthropomorhic animals. Have you ever wanted to be someone else and not get funny looks? (Ok, we all get funny looks, but that's besides the point.) Ever want to see and be a part of one of the most accepting communities of Reddit? Maybe get a Fursona? Huh huh? Well, /r/Furry is the best place to go for all of the above.
Among the furry community, you'll find all sorts of furs, from foxes and wolves, to dragons, snakes and even... sergals? What's a sergal? Can anyone tell me what a sergal is? Anyone? No? Ok. Thanks anyway guys. Sorry, just had to see if any of the SROTD staff knew what a sergal was. All of the respective furs bounce around the subreddit, creating art for their Sub's banner, sharing hilarious comics (very relevant, by the way), and even just asking questions to be answered from your fursona's point of view.
To be honest, /r/Furry is simply a collection of furs from all angles just sharing a commonality and making the world a better place with magical friendship (oops, wrong fanbase) love and tolerance for everyone, because differences are everywhere inside the fandom. Remember, you don't need to be furry (i.e. you don't need an alternate furry persona [fursona]) to be a /r/Furry friend. Just show up, have some laughs, and meet some new people.
