Right - imagine 10 years down the road and we're all wearing AR contact lenses most of the time, adding a layer to our whole world. Things like video-photos (ala Harry Potter) could feel very natural in no time. Having it be an actual photo instead of just a qr tag makes it fit into the offline world. This just seems a bit ahead of it's time

So they are running a kickstarter and an IndieGoGo at the same time?? Also they don't seem to mention if the video, gif, live pic etc has to reside on the phone that is viewing it. So for example if you want to look at a friend's Lifeprint through your phone will it work? And if you delete the gif, video, live pic from your phone will it still work??

I dunno if id call this a shitty kickstarter but it's definitely one of those things you will use twice and then never again.

I tried looking over their whole page and couldn't find anything about how it works. Seems like it would either have a small link embeded in the watermark, so you have to stream the video and it's hosted somewhere else, or it just links back to a video on your phone.

After finding one sentence it seems that the 'image' is shareable, so they must host the video on their server. Meaning your data bill just got a lot higher if you're not on wifi.

This looks like a platform that will be dead two days after arrival.

To share their kind of photo to someone they need to have the same printer device with them, and need to spend a sheet of expensive film and wait 30 seconds for it to print, and in return they get an inferior, lower resolution viewing experience. Sure it's better than having a printed out photo, but it's simply not as good as just displaying a photo or video on your phone. I see not a single benefit to this.
