I am one of the unfortunate individuals who supported the failing Kickstarter campaign for the Znaps product which is similar to the HKW cable. At the time of writing this review I had not yet received my product from Kickstarter and chose to go the route of HKW. The cable is a good quality, braided cable. The charger snaps to the connector with ease. The magnetic force utilized is enough to keep the cable attached but provides for an easy disconnect which makes this product superior to others I've tried. The charging end of the cable has dual indicators so regardless of orientation you will know that the cable is charing your device.
Once of m main concerns was that this cable supported Quick and Turbo charging...well it does. The nice thing is that during standard charing the LED indicator will light up but with any rapid charging it becomes brighter indicating that it is providing optimal charging speed as per your charger specifications.
I have tried other chargers like this that were adapters that you connect to your current cable and one of the downfalls of that system is that the charging end of your cable that connects to your phone/device is so large that it creates a larger degree of leverage leaving your cable more prone to disconnecting prematurely and unexpectedly. The HKW is the same size as a standard cable charging end minus the micro USB portion which means less leverage and a better, more stable connection.
I own 5 tablets and 2 phones and in my home we have about 11 mobile devices. We intend on adapting all of them with these cables. My 5 year old can now charge her tablets and disconnect them without me worrying about her damaging anything.

I have to say that I've tried 3 other brands of Magnetic Cables, and these are by far the best I've tried.
Now, I'm not saying they're perfect, but they are definitely the best I've had my hands on.

I love that it's reversible for both charging AND data. The other ones I've had were either polarized, so you could only put it on one way (trying to put it on the wrong way will have the magnet push the connector away), or the data/Fast Charging would only work in on orientation.

Fast charging actually works! Some of the other ones I tried didn't quite support fast charging. Some supported it the first day, but I think the cable burnt out as it never worked with fast chargers again. You'll know when its fast charging too because the LED lights up normal for the first half a second, then gets brighter a half second later.
Charging speeds are the same as regular Micro USB Cables.

Data transfer speeds are normal USB 2.0 speeds.

One thing I like is the fact that this feels like a quality cable. The braided cord feels solid, but at the same time, its still a bit thinner than most other braided cables I've seen. This can be seen as either good or bad. Some might say its bad because they are not an strong, but to me, I think its good because the cable is much more maneuverable, especially when wrapping it or storing it.

Which brings me to another point. It comes with a cord manager (basically a rubber piece that's attached so you can coil your cable and keep it secured or fold what ever length you don't need and secure that so that you don't have excess cable everywhere).

Another thing I like is the fact that the LED indicator on the connector ONLY LIGHTS UP WHEN ITS CONNECTED TO THE DEVICE!Read more ›

LOVE THESE CABLES! I'm one of many people who are waiting for the ZNap cables to be released. I found these on Amazon and jumped on them. I bought 3 sets. The micro USB insert fits perfectly on my Tab S tablet, Note 4 & HTC One M8 phones (all with cases). They connect so easy, I can do it in the dark. They fast charge and synch with no issues. If the connector inserts were offered separate from the cables and the magnets was a tiny bit stronger, it would be 5 stars. I'm so thrilled with these, I'll will be buying more.
UPDATE :
I now have 7 sets of these cables. Still pleased. I installed a waterproof case in my Note 4 and the magnetic connector fits perfectly under the access cover.
My HTC is being reused as a dash cam and I've never had this magnetic cable fall off on the roughest of roads. I'll will buy a few more until EVERY microUSB device I own is upgraded. Again, I wish the inserts were available separately.

The cable and adapter work as advertised. The adapter is not very bulky and fits flush on my Galaxy S6 Edge+ with a case on it. Without a case, you will have a little nub coming off, but it shouldn't cause any problems other than aesthetics.

I was surprised and happy to see that the cable actually supports quick charging, which was a definite huge plus for me.

My only issue with the product itself is that the magnet is not very strong and the connection breaks quite easily when you pick up your device. I am a bit OCD about this sort of thing and don't like having the power disconnected and connected on my device rapidly like that as often as it will happen using these cables.

My other issue with these that I think people may have to consider is that it will be expensive to actually use this product full-time as intended. It's $18 as of writing for a cable and adapter. They do not sell the cables separately, so there are no savings to be had there. You will have to buy a new set for every location in which you regularly to charge your phone, unless you wan to have to take out the adapter whenever you are somewhere without one of these cables, which completely defeats the purpose. They really should sell the cables separately or make some multi-pack deals where you get a pin or two and several cables. Most people will probably only be using these for a couple devices, but need cables for many locations and rooms of their home, so it makes no sense to have to buy a new adapter with every cable you need.

If the magnet were stronger, I wouldn't have much hesitation biting the bullet and buying several of these sets to go completely magnetic, but since they are somewhat weak, I don't think they are worth the cost to upgrade all my cables, sadly.
