Atheism is also one part of Hinduism. That's why Hinduism celebrated a Rishi called "Charvak" who openly said there is no God and asked people to live like there is one life. I feel that is the beauty of Hinduism. It can accommodate multiple view points even if they are at loggerheads with each other. Some people have even described Vedas as prescribing Atheism. Though not everyone agrees with this view.

As for Nirvana, it is supposed to liberate a person from the repeated cycle of births and deaths. My 2 cents.
