Japan's largest airline, All Nippon Airways, has withdrawn a TV advertisement after receiving complaints from some customers who called it "racist and offensive".

The advertisement features two Japanese actors playing ANA pilots discussing how to widen the airline's appeal to non-Japanese travellers.

It ends with one of the actors donning a large false nose and a blond wig.

The BBC's correspondent in Tokyo, Rupert Wingfield Hayes, has the background.
