Japan is the hottest sash at Miss Universe right now and this is largely due to the famed National Director Ines Ligron! Her magic hands honed several Japanese women that eventually became world-class beauties. Miyako Miyazaki, Kurara Chibana, Riyo Mori, Hiroko Mima...they all stole the beauty pageant limelight that was once - as it seemed - solely beamed on Latin American delegates.

Emiri Miysaka will now be wearing the Miss Japan sash. She is fluent in English as she studied in California for 10 months. In this interview, the answers are straight from her, the way she gave them to Ines Ligron in between photoshoots. Her English may not be perfect but it is authentic! The photos are exclusive to Missosology by celebrity photographer Leslie Kee. You can visit Leslies' website at http://www.lesliekeesuper.com/

If you are the answer, what is the question?

Who is the happiest person in Japan right now?

In a sea of universal beautiful women that shall set foot in the Bahamas, what would make you stand out?

Miss Japan delegates have gotten a lot of attention the past years for what they wear at Miss Universe. So I would say fashion for this question. We are already having meetings with the designer for my national costume and it is going really well. I can’t wait to wear his fabulous costume on stage.

If you could trade places with any other famous person for a week, real or fictional. with whom would it be & why?

Cameron Diaz. She has this HAPPY aura around her. She makes people around her happy with this big smile and her happy attitude. I am interested in her private life. I want to know what kind of lifestyle makes her bright character.

What is your worst quality?

Sometimes I am too serious. I think about small things too deep and I can’t let go.

Describe your fashion sense and style?

Casual but still gorgeous. I mean, I have lots of casual clothes in my wardrobe. But I always care about cuttings and size. Even though it’s casual, it can’t be too relaxed or boyish. I am trying to show my curves and lines. And don’t forget accessories!

What's inside your bag right now?

Book, i-pod, wallet, make-up goods.. and mobile phone.

Any beauty secrets that you would like to share the readers of Missosology?

Basically, I don’t do special things to be beautiful, because I think the most important things to be beautiful is to have a happy life! Even though you use expensive face creams or luxurious body care, if you are not satisfied in your life, you can’t be attractive.

What is your personal quote or motto that you live by?

Be appreciative of everyone, everything.

Tell us about your preparations for the Miss Universe contest.

I am learning tea ceremony from Ms. Keiko Mima (mother of Hiroko Mima). I want to show our own cultures to the Misses from all over the world. Also now I am reviewing Japanese culture.

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

Kate Winslet. Her transformation when she plays any character is amazing. I am curious to see how she would act my character.

One of your co-candidates in Miss Universe decides to visit your country, where would you take her?

I would like to show her my favorite places in Tokyo first, and then Kyoto afterward. Those two cities have such a different appealing culture. But still they are in Japan and I want to show that. We are living in this mix of traditional and cutting-edge culture.

If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?

I would say Natto. Natto is a very healthy food. Soy beans contain many kinds of nutrients, such as protein. But it smells bad and sticky, so only Japanese people can handle it! And nobody at Miss Universe would eat me!

If you were written about in the newspaper, on the front page, what would the headline say?

Biggest donation ever!!

Lastly, a message to the worldwide visitors of Missosology.

Thank you very much for reading my interview. Without you all at Missosology, there would be no FAN, then no FUN for us all competing! With love and appreciation - Emiri Miyasaka.
