Choi Ji-woo Sets her Sights on Hong Kong

With the Japanese mega-hit drama "Rondo" under her belt, Korean star Choi Ji-woo is set to make a foray into Hong Kong.

As the first episode of "Rondo," the special drama created in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS), boosted the network's ratings to 20 percent as it took to the air on Sunday, Choi Ji-woo prepared for her visit to Hong Kong to attend the opening ceremony of a new Christian Dior shop at the Festival Walk in Kowloon this Wednesday.

The Hong Kong press speculated that the grand opening ceremonies will be packed with reporters and fans gathering to see Choi, as her popularity soared in Hong Kong after the drama "Stairway to Heaven" was aired in the territory. Choi has been active as an Asian model for Christian Dior cosmetics since March of last year.

This is Choi's first official visit to Hong Kong, which makes it all the more exciting for the press and fans, according to the papers there. A Hong Kong-based newspaper, Mingpao, reported that Choi Ji-woo is to be styled "marvelously" by a special Christian Dior-affiliate beautician using the latest products from the company for her appearance to cut the ribbon. The paper also added a detailed introduction to the shop, which is being touted as "the first beauty concept shop in the world."

The 120 minute-long special first episode of "Rondo" captivated Japanese viewers who applauded that the first episode was so well-made that it "seemed like a movie." In Japan, soap operas whose first episode brings in 20 percent or higher ratings are classified as "mega hit" as opposed to a mere "hit."

The ratings for the premier of the show that kicked-off the Korean Wave in Japan in the first place, "Winter Sonata," were a mere 9 percent of the viewing market, and those of the first episodes of "Stairway to Heaven" and "Beautiful Days" also were incapable of achieving more than 10 percent. When that is considered, the first episode of "Rondo" which raked in 20 percent ratings is a laudable accomplishment.

Choi says her hard work is paying off, but "I'm not going to let myself be content with the ratings of the first show. I want to incite a change that is the localization of the Korean Wave in Japan, and I'm going to giving it all I've got till the very end"

One of the hottest TV dramas currently being shown is "Rondo," which airs every Sunday at 9 p.m. on TBS. The drama marks the first appearance in a Japanese TV series for Choi Ji-woo, the 30-year-old South Korean actress best known for her heroine role in "Winter Sonata." She co-stars with Japanese star Yutaka Takenouchi, 35.

With the big-name match-up, it was inevitable that "Rondon" would gain most of the media attention. It has been announced that the drama will be aired in China, Thailand, Malaysia and four other countries in Asia.

TBS is pulling out all stops to promote the drama as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations this year. The first episode earned a 20% rating and it seems everything is going well ... on the surface.

The reality is very different, says one of the program's crew. "The atmosphere on the set is as bad as it could be," said the staffer. "With Ji-woo, we rarely start on time, so everyone, including Takenouchi, has to wait for her, sometimes for as long as two hours. But she makes sure that she gets her time off while in Japan and is traveling all over the place from hot springs to Disneyland. I think she periodically goes back to South Korea as well. Honestly, I cannot understand her."

There also seem to be problems of miscommunication and cultural differences in the process. Another crewmember points out the disharmony with the South Korean staff.

"Choi brought 10 staff with her from South Korea," said the crewmember. "Basically, the way we work is different from the way they are used to working. TBS is known for its long hours of rehearsals, but such a practice is incomprehensible for them. They once yelled at us not to make Ji-woo do the same things over and over. This is the first time for us to collaborate with production crew from overseas. We hope that we overcome our differences in the end."

While the Japanese hosts gave Choi the best possible treatment, this caused some tension for the staff and other actors. "Choi brought her stylist from Korea, which TBS paid for. She also brought her wardrobe from Korea, so she gets her own fitting room while everyone else shares an assigned stylist and a fitting room provided by the station," grumbled one of the crew.

Since her arrival, TBS has done all it could to welcome the South Korean star. The red carpet was rolled out at the press conference, which is unheard of. Her guarantee is also said to be exceptional. The Korean media report that it is higher than Choi's most highest paid Japanese counterpart, Yukie Nakama.

If TBS is providing such VIP treatment for her, one would think that the station should be able to maintain some order. But things aren뭪 that easy in reality. "When the two sides reached the agreement, the president of TBS, Hiroshi Inoue, was to meet with the actress. He even went to get a haircut for the meeting. But he was let down by Ji-woo's mood swing that day when she canceled the meeting," said a TBS worker.

Another point of contention, said the TBS staffer, is that Choi wanted to be able to cook during her stay in Japan. "So instead of reserving a hotel room, the station rented an apartment for 1 million yen a month. But she has been dining out most of the time. She makes the staff search for a good place to eat. Even when her mother was in town, she dined out."

Though the opening episode earned a good rating of 20%, the second episode went down to 15%.

"We started filming in November, and if things had gone smoothly, we would be done filming six episodes by now," said a crew member. "But we are still filming the 4th episode. We are all tired that things aren't going as planned. On top of that, we are getting pilloried for not earning a high rating and thus not being able to recoup the costs of the drama to the station." Tabloid targets skating on thin ice

Snaring a large chunk of the inches available in Japan's wild weeklies during the week from Feb. 20 to 24 was South Korean stunner Choi Ji-Woo.

The star of the maudlin "Winter Sonata," which sparked Japan's brief love affair with all things Korean a couple of years ago made a quick trip back to the Land of the Rising Sun to promote her new TV series, which many of the weeklies were pleased to note had been a dismal flop in her homeland.
That didn't stop hacks and snaps in their droves from turning out to cover Choi's brief media conference during her whirlwind trip.

Japan's Turin Olympians came in for a considerable basting, particularly as they had failed to pick up a single medal between them, at least until the weeklies had all gone into print. That didn't stop the huge swathe of cheesecake shots of figure skaters Miko Ando, Shizuka Arakawa and Fumie Suguri. (By Ryann Connell)

Big money, popularity of TV luring Korean stars back to the small screen
By Chang May Choon

WHEN Korean movie star Jang Dong Gun was in town recently, his die-hard female fans had only one question.
When will he return to TV?

Instead of just two hours in the cinema, they want to watch 20 episodes of him in the privacy of their homes.

Such is the enduring appeal of Korean melodramas.

This realisation is fast hitting many TV A-listers who have crossed over to movies in the past two years.

The celluloid leap spelt glamour and big bucks and was a natural progression in showbiz.

But now it seems TV land is where the won is.

Furthermore, Korean movies seem to be on the decline among audiences in Asian countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Take Taiwan for instance.

Choi Ji Woo (far left in black jacket) has also joined the bandwagon of movie stars doing drama serials. Ye Jin (waving) has bagged a record-breaking fee of 25 million won per episode in a new drama

While viewers still happily lap up the latest Korean drama serials brought in by cable channels at sky-rocketing prices, the demand for the latest Korean movies is waning, reported United Evening News.

Bae Yong Joon's April Snow took a beating with dismal box-office earnings of NT2 million ($100,000), despite a much-hyped up promotional tour in Taipei.

In Singapore, the movie grossed only $270,000, much less than the $428,000 figure for his previous film, Untold Scandal, in 2004.

Likewise, Dong Gun's greatly-hyped movie Typhoon cost a record-breaking 15 billion won ($24m) but was two million admissions short of breaking even.

As a result, many top-billed actors are returning to the medium that pushed them to fame in the first place.

SHAKE UP TV SCENE

Lee Young Ae, for example, made her TV comeback with the wildly popular Jewel In The Palace. The serial was exported as far as Egypt last year.

Since then, top stars such as Yong Joon, Lee Byung Hun, Kwon Sang Woo, Choi Ji Woo, Son Ye Jin and Kim Hee Seon have also announced that their new projects will be drama serials.

Whether it's a coincidence or calculated move, their return is expected to shake up the Korean TV scene as fans wait with bated breath for the big melodrama heroes.

Besides, TV money is as good as what movies can offer.

A recent study by the Korean Film Council showed that earnings of top movie stars have gone up 2.4 times from an average of 200 million won to 480 million won in the past five years.

In TV land, however, A-listers are reportedly paid 10 times more now as compared to in 1998. That's when Korea's three terrestrial stations struck a deal to cap artiste earnings at 2 million won per episode.

Two years ago, Young Ae made history by commanding 10 million won per episode for the 70-part Jewel In The Palace. It earned her a whopping 700 million won, not including the royalties from ongoing sales of the serial overseas.

No wonder her male counterparts have been eager to dive back into TV.

No one seems to have done it better than Korea's biggest pop star Yong Joon.

Next month he will fly to Jeju to embark on the filming of The Four Gods, which is said to be the most expensive TV serial in Korea's history.

After headlining two movies, he is now set to play the great Korean King Gwanggaeto who conquered Manchuria.

EXPENSIVE SERIA

The historical serial cost a staggering 43 billion won to produce, reported Sports Chosun.

Building the movie's set in Jeju alone cost 13 million won, but its makers are expected to profit from producing merchandise and selling the show to some 90 countries.

When he met the press recently, Yong Joon said: 'I feel both enthusiastic and afraid because it is a fascinating role any actor would want to play.'

He had earlier said he was attracted by the charisma of his character and the 'tantalising plot and massive scale of the drama'.

His decision to return to TV may have nothing to do with the waning of Korean movies because he announced his plans in April last year while still filming April Snow.

Not to be outdone, Yong Joon's April Snow co-star Ye Jin has also returned to TV with a big bang. She bagged a record-breaking fee of 25 million won per episode in a new role.

In April, she will romance Gam Woo Sung in the serial, Alone In Love - her first since shooting to fame in the 2003 series Summer Scent.

Also expected to make a strong comeback is A Bittersweet Life star Byung Hun, who will appear in the upcoming romance serial, Cruel Love, to be filmed in France.

This marks his second TV comeback in his 15-year acting career, after the big hit All In in 2003.

JAPANESE DRAMA
As for his co-star Ji Woo in the movie, Everybody Has Secrets, her latest TV project is the Japanese drama, Rondo, which is currently showing in Japan and will be shown later in Korea.

Hee Seon and Sang Woo, who crossed to the big screen after playing lovers in the drama, Sad Love Story, have also announced their return to TV in the second half of the year.

To further spice up her comeback, the beautiful Hee Seon, who was last seen in the Hong Kong film, The Myth, got her Hong Kong co-star Jackie Chan to promise a cameo in her next project.

She is slated to star in a new romance drama that reportedly cost 10 billion won to make and has location shoots in Venice and Japan.

Perhaps the only star bucking the trend is Dong Gun, who is still busy jetsetting the world to plug his Chen Kaige movie, The Promise.

Now on a break, he has yet to confirm his next project. His last drama was All About Eve in 2000.

Speculation is rife that Korea's most bankable movie star will eventually return to TV, after failing to make another box office miracle with his movie Typhoon.

And it will probably be a matter of dollars and cents that will bring Dong Gun back into the waiting arms of his couch potato fans.

Japan's blondes vanish as women turn to dark side

By Isabel Reynolds

TOKYO (Reuters) - It's a case of the vanishing blondes.

Ten years ago, a stroll through central Tokyo could leave travellers wondering what country they were in as they watched a parade of tanned, fair-haired women walking tall in precarious platform shoes.

Now fashion has moved on and hairdressers say bleached blonde tresses are going the way of fake tans, although a dark brown tint still seems more popular than natural black.

The only fair-haired women to be seen on the covers of Japanese fashion magazines nowadays are foreign models.

Even Ayumi Hamasaki, the Japanese pop world's answer to Madonna, has dyed her trademark platinum locks sleek black to stay ahead of the curve.

"What's seen as attractive now is to look well groomed and cute," said hairdresser Yuko Shimizu of the afloat-f salon in Tokyo's trendy Aoyama district. "People want natural-looking shiny hair, whereas dyeing it blonde tends to damage it."

Neighbouring countries are providing inspiration, with popular actresses Zhang Ziyi of China and Choi Ji-woo of South Korea often seen showing off their glossy dark hair in TV commercials that emphasise their Asian identity.

Japanese women of a certain age have long tinted their tresses to cover the grey.

Light-coloured hair was popular because it was believed to make the face appear brighter and to be easier to coordinate with Western-style fashions, hairdressers say.

Admiration for European hair made even mousy brown tones a more desirable option than black, while younger Japanese of both sexes sought to express individuality with a palette of colours.

While brassy blonde is out, hairdressers say few fashion-conscious Japanese women are prepared to go completely natural, since many feel poker-straight black hair is unflattering.

"Black hair simply doesn't suit Japanese women any more, because their complexions are fairer than they used to be," said Kenichi Uehara, a veteran stylist at the Double salon in Harajuku, an area popular with young people.

"Magazines put forward the idea of black hair, but women aren't actually taking it up," he added. "The idea is to find a colour that's not too light but not too dark."

Flawless Choi-ce

Compiled by SOFIANNI SUBKI
With her alabaster smooth skin and fair complexion, Korean star Choi Ji Woo is the perfect pick as the new face of DiorSnow Pure.

AS the face DiorSnow Pure, Christian Dior’s skin whitening range, it comes as no surprise that Korean actress Choi Ji Woo has alabaster smooth skin. It is said that her complexion is so flawless that her face looks exactly the same with or without makeup.

Choi, 30, who has been likened to French actress Isabelle Adjani in looks, is not only drop dead gorgeous but she’s talented too. Her popularity in the region is largely thanks to her onscreen performances in highly successful movies and TV dramas such as Winter Sonata and Stairway to Heaven.

When filming the DiorSnow TV commercial in the snowfields of Hokkaido, Japan, under the direction of Hong Kong film director Richard Au Yeung, Choi displayed true grit by shooting in the freezing snow without complaining.

The end result was stunning. Choi wore an elegant Christian Dior white silk muslin dress, sent in especially from Paris, which only accentuated her perfect porcelain complexion.

The commercial has been aired in Korea, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong while the print campaign has been released in major magazines.

Since the launch of the successful DiorSnow line, Dior has taken revolutionary repair whitening to the next level. The dual prevention repair strategy spearheaded last year by DiorSnow Pure represented a dramatic advance in the fight against dark spots.

With a 16 per cent sales increase over the previous year, DiorSnow Pure has further confirmed its status as the preferred choice of increasing numbers of women for its exceptional whitening performance.

In 2006, DiorSnow Pure reinforces its repair action with a new and exclusive development from the Dior Innovation Centre – E-Cadherinaccel technology.

Melanin is produced by melanocytes in the basal layers of the epidermis and is then transferred to keratinocytes. In the course of their 28-day migration to the surface of the skin, they ensure an ongoing process of renewal, and thus the transport of melanin up to the surface, where it is eliminated. However, dark spots persist despite skin renewal, indicating a dysfunction of the keratinocytes.

At the Dior Innovation Centre, it was observed that in the skin of an area affected by dark spots there was a significant decrease in E-Cadherin. This protein is responsible for intercellular contacts and is involved in the regulation of the differentiation/proliferation balance of the keratinocytes and hence the transport of melanin up to the surface of the skin.

This cutting-edge technology is incorporated in three new intensive treatments - Perfect Whitening Skin Repairing Essence (RM340), Visible Whitening Essence Sheet Mask (RM210) and Intensive Whitening Spot Corrector (RM310).

In addition, there’s Whitening Matifying Emulsion (RM190), Whitening Radiance Eye Treatment (RM168) and Perfect Brightening Protective UV Base SPF 50 (RM148).

Within this programme, women will find the most comprehensive response to their individual treatment needs, enabling them to enjoy, as never before, a fabulously fair, flawless and even complexion.

Finally, Dior presents Plasticity, an Anti-Cellulite Corrective Gel that promises to get rid of unwanted inches. Inspired by cosmetic surgery techniques, in particular liposuction, Plasticity contains ingredients with the power to target existing fat cells and emptying them of their excess fat content. Plasticity retails at RM154.

I reallly love Cho Ji Woo. She is an amazing actor with extraordinary abilities. I loved her in Winter Sonata and though some found it boring I found her performance moved it along as well as in stairway to heaven. The abilities that she showed in STH was beyond anything that I had ever seen before. Her and Kim Tae Hee had good tension during STH and they played it out well.

I am in love with Choi Ji Woo. She is so wonderful in "Winter Sonata" and "Stairway to Heaven".
I cried continually during the last few episodes of "Stairway to Heaven".
I was so touched by her sincere acting and crying. She is a very gifted actress.
I just finished watching "Beautiful Days" and was blown away by her acting and crying.
I know you women like the male actors who star with Ji Woo.
But she is the one who makes these Korean TV Series great for me.

This is part of an article extracted from the news posted at STAR DOCU today, and some related articles.
http://www.stardocu.com/news/read.php?st_seq=6823&cate=AB

The news article is an interview of Choi Jiwoo’s appearance in Yashim Manman program which was recorded on the 29th and will be broadcasted on the 3rd April.

The MC asked, “Which of the Korean co-actors has the most charisma?”
Jiwoo answered, “Movie actor Lee Byung Hun.” She felt that Lee Byung Hun’s strong charisma and leadership lies in his deep voice and intense gaze.

About the topic 'Charisma is felt in a man', Choi said, “Basically I like man with leadership. It’s easier to follow a man who leads."

really hoping for a new tv drama collaboration between cjw and lee byung hun ... they really have great chemistry ...

Choi Ji-woo Remains Huge Box-Office Draw in Japan

April 5th, 2006

The latest film starring Choi Ji-woo, “Now and Forever”, is set to open in Korea on April 13 and in Japan two days later ? essentially a simultaneous release since new films open in Korea on Thursdays and in Japan on Saturdays.
In Japan, where it will be distributed by Toshiba Entertainment, the film opens on 280 screens, while domestic distributor Showbox will show it on 300 Korean screens.

The Japanese publication rights for the screenplay were sold for US$3.5 million before the movie was even completed, and a comic book and novel based on the film have also been generating plenty of advance publicity for the movie there.

As the female lead in the TBS soap opera 'Rondo' the actress gained recognition in Japan as well.

The show, whose series came to an end on March 26, saw ratings fall off toward the end, and there were signs of a backlash when a series of articles in the Japanese press painted a less than flattering picture of the actress. Choi was portrayed as a fanatical non-smoker who insisted on declaring the entire set a smoke-free zone, while the star on occasion reportedly kept crew waiting for hours. Choi was also said to be picky about her diet and prone to sulking whenever there was no kimchi around.

TBS felt moved to write to the Sankei Sports newspaper denying the charges. “Since there are many smokers among the crew, a smoking ban was impossible, and there was never a need to wait for Choi Ji-woo because she came to the set completely prepared, even with her makeup done,” the broadcaster said. It added Choi never complained about even the most bog-standard food.

When it first aired, “Rondo” got ratings of some 20 percent, but the show’s seriousness put some viewers off, and the decision of rivals to schedule competing programs in the same time slot dragged ratings down to an average of 15.9 percent.

Melodrama Princess Back With New Movie

April 5th, 2006

By Kim Tae-jong
Staff Reporter

Celebrity actress Choi Ji-woo is back with her new melodrama movie "Yeonriji, Now and Forever," which will open here on April 13.

Best known for her leading role in the television series "Winter Sonata (Kyoul Yonga)" all over Asia, Choi will play her trademark role of a beautiful yet ill-fated woman in the film.

But she says that the film will show a different side from her previous roles.

"When I first read the script of the film, I felt quite confident about this role and I thought I could do a good job," Choi said Monday during a news conference after the preview screening of "Yeonrijin, Now and Forever" at the Megabox Theater in Samsong-dong, Seoul.

"But there were also many things that I haven’t tried before like 'lovey dovey' acting. I think the character I play in this movie is different from those in my previous works," Choi said.

Directed by Kim Seong-jung, the movie is a sad love story between a rich, charming man and beautiful woman with a fatal disease.

Min-su (played by Cho Han-sun) is a playboy, who seems to have everything _ the looks, money and position of CEO at a game company. He indulges in casual relationships with many girls, but he has never been in true love until he meets Hye-won.

Hye-won (by Choi) is sick with a fatal disease and has to spend most of her time at hospital, but she is not discouraged with her misfortune and tries to enjoy her life.

As they are attracted to each other, Min-su gets to learn about love and Hye-won has the best time in her life.

As the story sounds cliche, it received negative reviews from local critics, who claims that the film relies solely on the star power with its shallow and flimsy story. But the movie received positive reviews from Japanese film critics when it was premiered in Japan on Feb. 24, prior to its official release there on April 15.

But she said that the film was not tailored only for Japanese moviegoers.

"I think audiences in Korea and Japan will like this movie. I didn’t intend my acting to appeal only to Japanese moviegoers," Choi said.

However, it seems true that she is now appealing to more fans from outside Korea.

In Japan, where she is affectionately called "Ji-woo Hime" (Hime means princess in Japanese) for her elegant appearance, she is now staring in a television drama titled "Yunmugok." In the series, she plays a Korean woman who runs a Korean restaurant in Japan co-starring with Yutaka Takenouchi, who appeared in Japanese hit film "Between Calmness and Passion."

She is also scheduled to appear in international fashion magazines as a cover model in May and July _ Taiwan’s edition of Vogue, Chinese edition of Cosmopolitan and Hong Kong’s edition of Elle.

Film "The Love Tree" Starring Choi Ji-woo Previewed in Tokyo

April 7th, 2006

A special preview for the film "The Love Tree" starring actress Choi Ji-woo was held at the Tokyo International Forum on Apr. 6.

The event was highlighted by onstage greetings from lead actress Choi and lead actor Cho Han-sun, director Kim Sung-joong, and singer Shin Seung-hun, who sang the film's theme song.

In her greetings to her Japanese fans, Choi said, "I hope you will really enjoy the film. And I also hope that this film will be long remembered in your heart."

As for the film, she said with pride, "I wanted to show my fans a variety of aspects about me through positive and even tough roles that I have never played before, as well as through tear-jerking scenes. I am quite sure that I did a good job doing that."

The lead actor Cho, who played opposite Choi, said, "We really did our best. Please enjoy the film."

Japanese news media outlets, including Nikkan Sports, covered this event as their major stories. Choi and Cho also appeared on Fuji TV's live variety show "Warate Iitomo" at noon on Apr. 6.

"The Love Tree" has won a rave response from Japanese fans. Its preview was sold out only five minutes after tickets went on sale. About 3,000 Japanese fans filled the theater to see the preview that day, demonstrating their high expectations about the film. "The Love Tree" will be released on a total of 275 screens across Japan on Apr. 15.”

A scene from “Yeonriji”
Choi Ji-woo is one of the most beloved actresses here and in other Asian countries _ especially in Japan where she is affectionately called ``Ji-woo Hime,’’ meaning Princess Ji-woo in Japanese.
But would you be willing to pay 7,000 won and sit in a theater for almost two hours watching a cliche love story just because she stars in it?

You may have to ask yourself this question if you want to check out her new movie ``Yeonriji, Now and Forever.’’

Directed by Kim Seong-jung and starring Choi and Cho Han-sun, the movie is a melodrama revolving around a rich, charming man and beautiful woman with a fatal disease.

Min-su (played by Cho) is a playboy. With his attractive looks, money and position as a CEO of a game company, he can easily lure women he likes and simply enjoys casual relationships with them.
His life, however, reaches a turning point when Hye-won (Choi) enters the scene.

At first, she is nothing more than one of many women he has met, but as he gets to know her he realizes that he is in love, which he has never experienced before.

Although Hye-won has to spend most of her time at hospital due to a fatal disease, she is always cheerful and not discouraged with her misfortune and tries to enjoy life. (Hye-won doesn’t give any signs that she is dieing until their relationship is in full bloom.)

As the story progresses, Min-su learns about the true meaning of love and Hye-won has the best time of her life, thanks to him.

But this seemingly sad story falls short of arousing audiences’ sympathy. Their agony and sadness is not well portrayed, rather audiences are forced to sense it merely through their tears, which doesn’t work well.

Their ``romantic’’ dating is often cheesy and unrealistic given the seriousness of their situation.

The scenes of Min-su renting an entire car theater for Hye-won and confessions of their love for each other with video messages through cell phones would probably fit better in a teen movie.

The movie adds some comic elements by incorporating two other couples, which seems to aim to prevent the film from falling into a typical tearjerker, but it simply falls short as most of it has nothing to do with the main story.

As the movie uses formulas that we have seen hundreds of times in other melodramas and depends largely on star power, if you’re not a huge fan of Choiy you may find yourself giggling during serious scenes.

"Love wants not to be separated, and to show a strong appearance. "

Che Geu who starred in movie "Branch of Rencotowari" (Be opening it to the public) responded to a single interview of the Asahi Shimbun asparagus club to intervals of the preview in Tokyo International Forum on April 6. The mind of the fan of Japan is gripped by the heroine post of South Korea drama "Sonata of winter", and it stands from last year to this year in the front of the South Korea style now of the photograph collection, the DVD sale, the drama concert, and the serial drama first appearance of Japan, etc.It talked for about 30 minutes like the gratitude etc. to eagerness put on the movie and the fan.

Q:It is a love story that moves to tears. The reason to decide appearance?

「I wanted to do for the first time by all means in the movie in the drama though the tale of tragic love was performed. However, it is a position that doesn't stimulate the lachrymal gland but brightly invites the man in a debonaire way at time. Person..various..act..express..appearance..decide.」

Q:The appearance to make the death the near future and to live brightly is
performed.

「I think that a surrounding person cannot consider, and it becomes a self-target if I make the death the near future like Hewon (hero's woman). A strong appearance is shown to separate love in the latter half though it tries to separate from Mins that meets with great pains (lover). 」

Q:It cheerful and is the character to which it has a mind near Che Geu and oneself?

"Surroundings are said so though I did not think so. "

Q(in playEating and drinking are good.

「Basically, it eats a lot, and there are little likes and dislikes. However, I cannot be strong unlike in the movie, and sake be drunk. 」

Q:How is the figure maintained?

「It tries as moving as much as possible. Physical strength is considerably consumed
to acting. 」

Q:Because considerable concentration is necessary, acting that means the serif
while crying :.

「It was difficult as said. It became not confident advanced by taking a picture though it was confident first. Because it was very difficult to keep maintaining feelings of Hewon. The concentration 4?5 usual time was required because it was took in early winter, strong the wind, and in the part where feelings of two people were expressed, there was a limitation at the taking a picture period, too though taking a picture started in summer. 」

Q:About Mr./Ms. Cho Hanson who co-stars.

「It was a partner whom the breath suited very much. Because I was a senior, he might have been difficult as those who acted. It tried so that the scene that did the date repeatedly may become intimate a lot, and early. I think that it was able to become intimate early because there are a lot of taking a picture in the outdoors and the provinces, and were a lot of chances to eat including the staff. It is serious and the sensibility is rich in sincerity () though it is young. In the scene that put feelings, it helped. I thought his look to be deep. 」

Q:Liked scene?

「Scene of date of fishing. After that, the last scene. It performed it while feeling
the pain in the chest of Hefon. 」

Q:What life does Che Geu want to live though the woman who lived to the utmost though it is short
was performed?

「I think that Hewon was a happy woman though it has so thought about neither life nor the life. The life was able to be shut in front of the friend who importantly regarded the person and himself/herself who loved. I think it was happy in the meaning of having died while feeling love. I want to die in the chest of the person who loves if possible, too. 」

marissa,
My copy was obtained off Ebay from Hong Kong for about $20 US.
I just watched RONDO with English subtitles and thought the series was great.
The series was fast paced and confusing initially and only focused on Yutaka
as an undercover cop, but slowed down after a few episodes and then finally
began to develop the relationship between Takenouchi Yutaka and Choi Ji Woo.

First, the last four episodes were really intense with lots of twists and turns in
the plot and subplots.
Second, too bad the director could not keep things going during the middle
episodes.
Third, too bad there were only two kisses in the whole series, but that is
typical of these dramas.
Fourth, the ending was great! Need to see more of these joint efforts between
the Koreans and Japanese. Jerry
