Stop the Dolphin Slaughter!!

I am deeply deeply shocked to discover this information today.
It put me in tears..!!
I can't believe people could actually do such an evil evil EEEEEEVIL thing!!
Well I'm definitely going to do everything I can to stand up against this inhuman act!! PLEASE READ.....!!

The Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, "The Cove" follows a high-tech dive team on a mission to discover the truth about the international dolphin capture trade as practiced in Taiji, Japan. They show the world the horrifying secret of the slaughtering of dolphins.

Not only does it expose the tragedy of dolphin slaughtering in Japan but also the dangerously high levels of mercury in dolphin meat and seafood that is consumed by people & the cruelty in capturing dolphins for entertainment.
We also see how the leaders of the International Whaling Commission has been manipulated by the Japanese Fisheries Agency for its benefit and its effect on the rest of the world.

Oh no!, that's exactly what my father and I were talking about a few hours ago =( . He told me how they were killing a lot of whales and other animals, and all the things they do... I could hardly listen...

It is not fair!, it fills me with anger and sadness every time I get to know something like this is happening!.

What a horrible thing ! And unfortunately there are so many other things like that in the world !
I'm always very sad seeing how animals are awfully threatened. I'm vegan so that I don't take part in that.
But still, so many animals are slaughtered (for their meat, their skin, their fur or their tusks ...).
I wish all of that could stop some day !

yes it is really horrible and sad what people do to the animals. lots of time i think of this: how come we are such a developed world, how come we create so many things and we became so developed in certain areas and then comes this (not only animals but also people, discrimination, war, etc...) and we can't see how undeveloped our mind is to still do all this stuff. sometimes we, human kind, the ones that are supposed to think and to be intelligent, we're so mean

I totally agree with you!
Unfortunately the different states don't care about all these problems, and often associations like Green peace (but I'm not totally agree with their actions, I have my beliefs, I study the ecology, environment and biodiversity) to denounce these massacres.
You should know that if we destroy a species, it is the whole of food chain is disturbed, and others species die in their turn. The massacre may be direct as with the example of dolphins or indirect with pollutants. Some pollutants are not necessarily fatal, but they accumulate in the food chain and can reach humans with very large concentrations, which can be very serious for the health (I had an example of a pollutant, but I forgot the name).
Recently there were European elections, and the ecologists won several places to the European parliament. I hope they will succeed!!!

It always makes me so sad whenever I hear about people causing harm to animals. No matter how smart an animal may be, they don't possess human technology. They can't get away if a group of people is trying to harm them. It isn't fair.

I feel like this issue won't be viewed as being important enough by the people who might actually be able to stop it because it doesn't involve harm caused to people. I hope that won't be the case.

I really hate that such pointless cruelty exists in the world. These creatures are beautiful.

There is a whale and dolphin activist named Hannah Fraser, who is also a mermaid model (here is her youtube vids, they're beautiful: http://www.youtube.com/user/hannahfraser) who went to the protest a while back. I saw the videos, the waters were red and the dolphins were just crying out for help. It was such a sad sight. It's also not good for humans to eat them because of the mercury inside them. It's a lose-lose situation for both humans and dolphins alike. I just wish that more people could find out about this and stop it.

Actually lots of countries blame Japan for killing the whales because they're going to dissapear soon. I knew that they were killing dolphins too. It's kinda sad because people in Japan are often trully nice, and I think most of them are against this slughtering (mostly all those cute japanese girls who still act childish sometimes, they would cry if they knew, and most of the young generation too). I guess the media hide it if you were not aware of it.
You have the opportunity to talk to japanese, it's important coz the fight has to come from the inside. If the rest of the world say something, japanese are going to say that we can't undertsand because it's a difference of culture, or something like this, but if japanese fight, and refuse to eat whales and dolphins, it's going to work!
So Japanese have to fight!! for their ideas, (like Iran is fighting right now) and the others have to help too by denouncing it and putting pressure on the government.
Japan is a great country, it has to get rid of its bad habits.

I'm glad that you had an entry about this because I remember late last year when they were filming this and it reached yahoo's front page. One of the girls who went to try to stop the killing was a movie star here and the image of her crying and bring pushed away with a metal pole caused a lot of anger in the US. However, since then the news has died down and I think people have put it in the back of their minds. I will definitely watch this movie when it comes out. Let's all do what we can to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

捕鯨やイルカ漁は日本文化の一つです。
なぜ、文化を否定されるんですか？

イルカ漁、ひどいですよね！
くじら漁や、カンガルーの間引き、それにフォアグラの為のガチョウの飼育なんかもひどいですよね！
バロットなんかも残酷だし、ハブ酒なんかも非人道的な感じですし、、白魚の躍り食いなんて目も当てられないですよね！
あと屠殺時のピッシングなんかも最高にひどいですよね！

私はその映画こそがショックだったのですが。

漁師が延々の大昔からイルカを獲って生活してきたことも少しは考えて下さい。

イルカや鯨はとってもいいけど、鶏や牛や豚はいくらでも殺していいわけですね。

これ、イルカや鯨を食料としてる人たちが言い出すなら分かるんですけど、自分たちが食べるものには一切触れないで、自分たちが関係ないところに影響でるものだけ批判するのはどうなんでしょう？

芸能人ならもう少し自分の発言の影響力を考えられた方がよろしいかと思います。

あなたは日本人ですか？
日本では伝統的にイルカを食す文化があるのに、そんなことも知らないのですか？
「ショック！虐殺だ！涙が止まらない！」って騒いでますが、先祖代々イルカ漁をされている方に対して失礼だと思いませんか？
欧米の感情的な非科学的価値観を押し付けてイルカ漁を止めさせたところで、イルカ漁で生計をたてている漁師さんの生活を補償する責任を持てますか？
あなたはアーティストとして「個性は尊重すべき」と思われているかもしれませんが、結局あなたがされていることは西欧的価値観に毒された人間がその価値観を異質な日本の伝統文化に押し付け、一時的な感情に流されながら無責任にも文化の継承を断ち切ろうとしているのですよ？文化の「虐殺」ですよ？

イルカを食べることの何がいけないのでしょうか？
人間が生きていくうえで他の生物の命を頂くのは仕方のないことです。
牛、豚、鳥を食べることはよくてイルカは駄目なのですか？
イルカは知能が高いからかわいそうなんて事は理由になりません。
野菜だって生物です。野菜はかわいそうじゃないんですか？
あと、虐殺という表現はイルカ漁にかかわる人、消費者すべてを馬鹿にしてると思います。

この記事を見て私はベジタリアンですなどと言う低能のが用語に回るとは呆れます。
この記事は食用の虐殺は認めてイルカの虐殺限定で非道の行為と書いてあります。
貴方はベジタリアンかは知りませんがそんな事は
どうでもいいです。
