Painless dentistry

Doll's diddling in dentist's chair keeps male patients coming back for more
[Mainichi Daily News]

Which brings us to Jitsuwa Knuckles (February) and the story of Aiko, a 19-year-old dental assistant currently employed at a clinic in Osaka.

...Aiko might be alone in the room with a male patient for anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, and during this time, there's not a heck of a lot she can do.

...So she can pass the time by making small talk. Or, for and additional 10,000 yen [94.09 USD] -- not covered by health insurance, unfortunately -- she can give the patient a hand job.

..."But you know what?" Aiko giggles again. "I think even if the boss were to find out what I've been doing, he wouldn't fire me. Actually, quite a few patients like to come here for treatment because I'm around."
I've never found it easy to relax in a dentist's chair. I don't know that I would take advantage of such a service, but just knowing that it might be available is one heck of a distraction from whatever the dentist is doing.

I do know, though, that the Mainichi Daily News, or at least that subset of it we get in English via these WaiWai translations, is notorious for (1) sexual content (not that there's anything wrong with that) and (2) unlabelled fiction. Sort of the Japanese equivalent of the Weekly World News.

But a man can dream.

(Sorry. I searched in vain for an appropriate photo to introduce this article. Use your imagination. Oh, I'll bet you already are.)
