Default Basel 2009: NOMOS introduces Perpetual Calendar - NOMOS Zürich Phi

Based on the new NOMOS Zurich watch NOMOS intrudeced a watch with Perpetual Calendar. The "NOMOS Zürich Phi" Since NOMOS uses greek letters for its movements they have choosen Phi since this is is a mathematical an irrational mathematical constant, approximately 1.618033988 which describes the golden ratio. The phi phenomenon is a perceptual illusion described by Max Wertheimer in his 1912 Experimental Studies on the Seeing of Motion, in which a disembodied perception of motion is produced by a succession of still images. In discussions of the perception of film and video it is often confused with beta movement, but it is a distinct phenomenon not directly involved in the perception of motion pictures.

NOMOS plans to make the watch avalable in a steel case for less then 10.000 Euro.

The NOMOS Phi Movement.
