Japanese businessman attempts to write off teen hookers as business expense

Takayuki Nagai wasn't content with merely having his way with teenage
prostitutes less than a quarter of his age, the sex-crazed 55-year-old also
wrote off his raunchy romps as a business expense so his company would have to
foot the bill, according to Shukan Jitsuwa.
The head of the Kitakyushu branch of a top manufacturing company the weekly
doesn't name was arrested earlier this month for breaking the law banning child
prostitution by allegedly paying a 17-year-old schoolgirl prostitute called
Sayaka for a sexy romp in a love hotel in Fukuoka on Feb. 17.
Also arrested on the same charge was Tsuyoshi Morishima, the operator of a
matchmaking website that dispatched Sayaka and other teen prostitutes to men
such as Nagai.
"Sayaka used to charge 30,000 yen per session, of which she would give
Morishima a 20 percent cut as an introduction fee," a reporter on the police
beat tells Shukan Jitsuwa.
For almost the past decade, it's old hat to hear stories of teenage
prostitution, or enjo kosai as it's euphemistically called in Japanese that
translates as "compensated dating." Where Nagai's story differs, however, is
that he would write off the many sex sessions he had with schoolgirls as a
necessary business expense his company could later claim as a tax break.
"Police found out that after Nagai had taken the girl to the hotel and had his
way with her, he gave her a receipt slip and said, 'Sayaka, fill this receipt
out for me will you?' When the cops took in Sayaka over a separate prostitution
case, they learned about Nagai. She told them that he had asked her to fill in
a receipt so he could claim that he had been entertaining customers on company
business," the reporter says.
Police have concentrated their investigation into Nagai on whether he actually
claimed the paid sex sessions as a business expense.
"Police suspect Nagai may have made his company foot the bill for sex sessions
with several underage girls and are looking into these cases. Nagai has got a
place in Kitakyushu, but spends several nights a month in Fukuoka on business,"
a police insider tells Shukan Jitsuwa. "It's these times when he is believed to
pick up girls under 18 for sex. He is believed to have paid for sex with an
unknown number of young girls."
Nagai is the top man at the Kitakyushu branch of a precision machinery
manufacturing company prominent enough to be listed on the first section of the
Tokyo Stock Exchange. He is living alone in Kitakyushu.
"He has a family, but lives by himself in Kitakyushu. He's a cheerful type who
creates a good impression and is always superbly dressed, looking good in his
suit and tie," a neighbor of the accused sex criminal says. "He seemed to be a
sensible type and looked the part. He certainly didn't look like the kind of
person who'd get caught up in such a sordid crime. I'm shocked."
Those close to the case forecast Nagai will feel the full brunt of justice.
"Trying to claim the sex sessions as a business expense is proof that he felt
no shame about using schoolgirl prostitutes. This case symbolizes how much of a
problem schoolgirl prostitution has become for Japanese society," the police
beat reporter tells Shukan Jitsuwa. "Nagai didn't confine himself to using only
the site Morishima ran. He also used other sites to find schoolgirl
prostitutes. And then he paid for them using his company's money. At the very
least he should have used his own money...no, that's illegal, too. He simply
shouldn't have done what he did at all."
