Has he had any come out? Cause currently I've got money to spend and I'm anxious to buy one if he's got one. I checked Amazon JP but er, I can't read the descriptions so I'm pretty much SOL, especially for the things with no cover or anything. Some look like they COULD be, but I don't want to spend money on something think it's one thing and ending up getting something completely different. ><

Thank you so much to anyone who can answer this for me Big Smile

I took a look at his agent's website, and I don't think he's been in any photobooks. I only see movies, dramas and CMs.

http://www.infini-inc.net/infiniFiles/mem_File/ky_main.html

You can always blow some cash on his movies from www.yesasia.com though. Unless you have them already. Smile

Also, here's his page at jdorama, in case you haven't seen it.
http://www.jdorama.com/artiste.561.htm

He's definitely one of my favorite actors, and my sis thinks he's uber hawt.

Oh darn! I was so hoping one of those was a photobook so I could have a new droolworthy photobook, other than my Miyavi one which is getting worn out from looking at it so much pinch Oh well! Thanks for the info, I hadn't seen his agent's site yet. He's a great actor -- really versatile & quirky in a lovable way (Strawberry On The Shortcake anyone? His english = to die for Wub ) and.. your sister's right, really hot. O_O Even my friend who doesn't like Japanese dramas or culture/music saw my WP of him and said, "DAMN, that guy is hot!" ^_^V

Thanks again for the info. =]

Sorry if I'm a little late on that.Indeed, Yosuke Kubozuka didn't get a photobook for himself. And quite frankly I think he's the kind of actor who will never be in one lol, he's way too un-idol like for that I guess (sadly for us lol)

BUT, he "made" a photobook himself, of his creations, you can find the whole book scanned here, at my livejournal:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/protune/49408.html#cutid1

and if you want to buy it, here's the link Smile

I hope this helped Smile

Actor Yosuke Kubozuka survives fall from 9th floor condo

Monday, June 7, 2004 at 07:46 JST

Actor Yosuke Kubozuka
YOKOHAMA — Actor Yosuke Kubozuka survived a fall from the balcony of his ninth-floor condominium in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture on Sunday, sustaining injuries, police said.

The 25-year-old up-and-coming actor fell about 26 meters, hit a wire mesh fence surrounding the condo building and landed on a lawn.

Kubozuka's fall from balcony an accident, agency says

Tuesday, June 8, 2004 at 07:55 JST
TOKYO — Actor Yosuke Kubozuka's fall from the balcony of his ninth-floor condominium in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Sunday was an accident caused by carelessness, his management agency said Monday.

According to a statement released by Infini Inc, the 25-year-old Kubozuka was trying to detach a device from the balcony to hold cloth carp streamers when he fell "due to carelessness." The actor is conscious but has broken some bones and needs to remain in the hospital while he recuperates, the agency said. (Kyodo News)

Kubozuka's popularity takes dive after nine-story fall

June 11, 2004

No soft landing for Kubozuka's career.
Bad boy actor Yosuke Kubozuka may have miraculous survived a nine-story fall
from his Yokosuka apartment, but even if he wasn't trying to commit suicide,
his career standing in Japan's fickle entertainment world can expect to
plummet, according to Shukan Jitsuwa.

Kubozuka amazingly walked away with just a few broken bones after his
26-meter plunge on June 6, but now conjecture is rife over whether he
deliberately jumped or accidentally fell.

"His handlers are saying he fell while he was trying to untie carp streamers
he'd put up for his young son, but I think you can look at the incident as a
botched suicide attempt," a celebrity world insider tells Shukan Jitsuwa.
"There're a couple of weird things about what happened. A fence about 9
meters away from the apartment cushioned his fall before he landed on a
patch of grass. He must have been traveling at a huge speed when he jumped
to have been able to hit that fence before reaching the ground. If he'd only
fallen, as his handlers claim, he would have landed just a few meters away
from the apartment at best. A woman who saw the whole thing has told
reporters she saw things so shocking she hasn't got the courage to put them
into words. It's almost as though she's being told the keep quiet in case
she says something that will destroy Kubozuka's career."

Not that there seems too much to get rid of anyway.

The firebrand 25-year-old has earned a reputation for blowing his top at the
slightest provocation. Those who know him say it wouldn't be out of
character to attempt suicide as he threatened to take his own life several
times before following arguments with his wife.

Kubozuka is also violent, having attacked a paparazzi cameraman in October
last year. His victim pressed charges and Kubozuka escaped jail only by
paying hush money to his victim and a 100,000 yen fine in cops' coffers.

He later appeared on TV in a T-shirt swathed in obscenities directed at the
media, and further cultivated his bad boy image by speaking out publicly on
behalf of marijuana, a weed most Japanese equate with hard drugs, as Sir
Paul McCartney knows better than most.

Kubozuka's tarnished name had already made it hard for him to get work.

"When his son was born in October last year, he announced that he was taking
paternity leave and spent much of his time at home. But, that was only
because he couldn't find any work. Nobody wanted him to do any acting for TV
dramas at all," a TV industry source says. "Kubozuka's handlers were trying
to flog him off to TV shows other than dramas. He got one travel show, but
caused so much trouble while they were making it that he's unlikely to ever
get another program like that again."

At one time, Kubozuka boasted of having lucrative endorsement deals with
seven companies, but now he has none. A movie released last month flopped so
badly, it failed to recoup its costs. Whatever really happened in Kubozuka's
apartment last week, it's hardly likely advertisers are going to be knocking
down his door.

"Any work that has a contract including a good behavior clause," an ad
agency insider tells Shukan Jitsuwa. "will automatically exclude Kubozuka
from the running."

This is not exactly latest news, since it happened nearly two years ago....

But I remember being in Japan when this happened and it was absolutely stunning to see how after this suicide/trying to take some decoration off his balcony attemp, we couldnt find any news about the incident... They reported about it for a few days (only sports news papers) and then it was like it never happened.... Im wondering what he is up to now

Yeah, this news is pretty old...
He's got another drama coming out soon, if I remember correctly...and I think he was in a movie since his "accident"... I kind of slacked off following up on news about him, so I don't really remember...

I first noticed Yousuke-san in S.O.S. because I didn't like the Takki/Fukada Kyoko/Uchiyama Rina triangle. I was thoroughly disgusted and bored with Takki's infatuation with Kyoko's character so I had to rely on Yousuke's relationship with his teacher just to finish the drama. He was such a playboy........but a very cute one at that! I adored his character in S.O.S. and I felt really bad for him because he did an excellent job portraying a deeply wounded young man who put up a nonchalant front.

Then, GTO, the movie Ping Pong, and Long Love Letter did it for me.

I love the fact that he's usually the comic relief in both movies and dramas...

That second article is really bitchy..

He was in a movie in 2005 called Onaji Tsuki wo Miteiru and I think I read that he was filming a movie about wandering though the desert or something and it was supposed to be (the dialogue) in English he's also in Tobi ga kururi.

I heard people think the fall was a suicide but he still maintains it was a fall, I read he said he's no longer scared to play with his kid on the balcony or something. Could you actually jump 9 metres? (or fall 9 metres ;p)

i read about this quite a while ago -i can't be bothered finding a particular quote, its probably from one of those articles- but i was really shocked by how unsympathetic the media were towards him concerning this incident, you'd think that if it was actually an attempted suicide then people would show a bit more compassion... but then again i suppose his reputation would obviously play a role in how he's perceived by the media, especially considering the attacking-the-paparazzi and appearing on TV in "a T-shirt swathed in obscenities directed at the media" incidents, but i dont know too much about either of those occurrences so I guess I can't really comment.

anyway, i really like yousuke kubozuka -i think he's a great actor (one of my favourites) and although his popularity apparently declined a lot, i want to see him in something new so i hope he does have a film coming out, i might look into this in fact..

Well, well. It may be old news, but I just recently found out about this actor. I liked the movies he was in and I liked his characters. It's a shame he has such a reputation 'cause I was really looking forward to watching more of his stuff. It's no wonder his "recent stuff" is hard to find. In any case, I hope things work out for him and he straightens his shiz out.

Now he is truly an A-class actor. I wish I was seeing more of him because his movies are always a treat. I don't think Japan can handle him because he's just that good...
