It seems many have misread the letter and are assuming that the ship will appear in Alabama. The Federation DO NOT say this. They say 'We give to you the name of Alabama'. Here are some thoughts I have received as to its meaning.
1. The only thing comes to mind is "Stars fell on Alabama". This motto is printed on car license tags in the state of Alabama.
2. I was very interested in hearing of the October 14th date, I have longed for this for so long. In 1999 I saw quite a few UFO's in Adelaide and on several occasions and one of them was what I assumed was a light ship because it was like a ghost, the ship was say 60 feet in diameter and white, but the middle had a band of all the colours of the rainbow. Later I went to a psychic and he told me that Adelaide used to be a space port around 50 000 years ago. As soon as I read the words in the October 14th article "In days of old, it used to be" I immediately thought that Alabama might be the name of the old space port in Adelaide.
3. Yes, it took courage to post that, but many,many of us have read things similar, or have been in channelings from Ashtar or other commanders and higherups that work with Sananda...the great one! I hope and pray that this occurance does happen; it is time for the world to know what secrets have been kept from them. I've always believed, never once thought to doubt (well, of course I did, I remember well my time in the Pleides, and with the Brotherhood of Light!)... even as a young child. I've been ridiculed for these beliefs, but always felt that someday, they would see the light. So, thank you for your beautiful postings...Regarding "Alabama"...did they not mean the southern part of our states, rather than hemisphere? I only hope that it is large enough that I can see them and wave from North Carolina!!! I've read recent postings that many are being lead to go out and look up at the night skies...I wonder if they are being prepared to see this lovely site??
4. The "indus" (native american) constellation is in the southern hemisphere, and Alabama is named after a Native American tribe, I wonder if that's the connection.I sure hope this comes to pass.
5. As I ponder on the word Alabama all of a sudden a song on the radio keeps repeating itself and making a profound impact on those I am sharing this message with here in Australia and in the USA. The Song "Sweet Alabama" is the song and people are catching themselves singing this song and wondering where it has all of a sudden come from of late.. Australia also has states....not just the America's. I was just thinking and thought to share.Very powerful and very exciting...
6. I was intrigued by the Alabama reference, and the remark that ‘In days of old, it used to be’ in the Southern Hemisphere. In Australia we're taught about Gondwana, a 'supercontinent' that existed millions of years ago comprised of Antartica, South America, Africa, parts of India and Australia and New Zealand. There was a second supercontinent - Pangaea that was made up of most of today's northern hemisphere continents. I found research that indicates that "most of Florida and southern Georgia and Alabama are underlain by rocks that were originally part of Gondwana but that were left attached to North America when Pangaea broke apart." This *may* explain the message.
7. I cannot be certain as I do not fully remember, but I am sure that the Federation Of Light (Hathors?) are likely referring to those days long gone before the major shift referred to by Thoth in the Emerald Tablets destroyed a great deal of the then known Earth along with Lemuria and Atlantis.I really believe that the sun did rise in the west and set in the east before the fall which would mean that the poles were reversed.I hope The Federation will not change their minds, such an event would really help many who are "on the fence" and I honestly feel that the time is right now.
8. Maybe the Credence Clearwater Revival song, 'Sweet Home Alabama' may be of some help - 'Sweet Home Alabama, Lord I'm Coming Home To You.... Where The Skies Are Blue....' Isn't Australia lovingly nicknamed 'Gods own Country?'

Why Alabama? ... besides the Marshall Space FLight Center, we also have one of the only remaining historical sights and space camp at our Space and Rocket Center.. tho MSFC is mostly now defense contracts unfortunately- at one time it was a great center for space exploration.. it is where Werner Von Braun came to bring his knowledge and start the space program. The same site holds Redstone Arsenal military complex. At one time, most who were employed here worked for one or the other. Also, it is well known that the Cherokee live(d) in North Eastern AL, many were able to escape during the Trail of Tears and fanned out across AL, MS and many remained in NC. We of course, long time ago arrived from the Pleiades.. in fact that is where I call home and have for some time.
10. I am an Airline Pilot and a UFO/ET Experiencer, and your message is in accord with the impressions I have been getting for many years. . There is a big NASA center in Huntsville, Alabama, and perhaps that is going to be the place where it starts. It would be an amazing event if it actually comes to pass as predicted. It is also said that it will "Scan" over many states, so hopefully many of us will get to see it from where we live. There are many of us active in Colorado that would love to have a visit. Very interesting, we will have to see where they appear, though we should probably trust their judgment as to how to make the best impact. Checking Encarta, there is also an Alabama in South Africa, Belize, and Greenland. I don't think they would make a huge media splash in Greenland, and I also believe that it is my (Formerly) good old USA that needs the greatest awakening, I still think that is most likely. We shall see!
11. Concerning Alabama and the Southern Hemisphere. Perhaps I can shed some light. Not sure when this happened, but the map of the world was intentionally reversed to give the Northern hemisphere 'power'. Previously the map had been drawn with the Southern hemisphere at the top.

BA - the ancient Egyptian word for the etheric double, I believe, or the
Light body
MA - the Great Mother
So perhaps, this name is symbolic of that place in our Heart that can recognize the Supreme Being and allow it to infuse MA, our Mother Earth, and our own bodies, in order to raise its frequencies to BA, our Light body, so it can transmute, or ascend, to the next dimension.Interestingly, this name also relates to Bama - as in Obama, who is a Light being come to usher in the Great Shift. BA-MA = the fusion of our Light Body with the Body of the Great Mother. So where is this to take place? Is it really in 3D, or in subtle levels, made visible by light technologies of our space brothers? Certainly, it will be made visible at a sacred vortex of Mother Earth,ancient or new, where the veils are thinned.
13.Wow that certainly took some courage to put that out, good on you - shall certainly keep my eyes peeled. The wonderful woman (healer and clairaudient) whom we knew in Sussex told us that there would be sightings in the southern hemisphere! That pilots sometimes see them but keep quiet about them.

15.The earth has flipped poles. Essentially, during the time of the Dinosaur’s, the southern hemisphere was north and visa versa. This is one of the reasons the giant creatures died off. The poles flipped and thus ushered in the ice age. We are coming upon that time again. Many scientists say that we are due for the polar shift to occur again and many think that this is the great change that will happen in 2012.

Regarding the whole 'Alabama' question, We found some information on the Aries full moon (Oct 14), and it mentions the volcanic crater of Haleakala in Hawaii as being the sacred site for this date. Still in the northern hemisphere, I know, but only just below the Tropic of Cancer. As we approach 2012 Earth is completing a 26,000 year 'wobble' on its axis - somewhere along the line Haleakala probably was in the southern hemisphere. Anyway, this may be clutching at straws, but due to the similarity of the names, we thought it worth mentioning.

i have contemplated on things abit more, and while i still believe that those in power over the worlds human elite might very well use the Oct 14th event to springboard America into a totalitarian state, i have also come to suspect, as written in this thread-

however, i do not think that they will be MIA on the proposed date, again because i feel something right about this, and also a feeling of my apartment being a kind of hold-over point.

Were should i start? well for one the galactic federation is full of crap, it is just another tactic for misleading the public. In reality it's is just another plan for the government to push the new world order. Guio e tiso! For those who know, there has been quite a commotion about October 14th 2008 being the day an ET ship will appear for the world to see like never before. Many channelers and psychics have already put their two cents in, in confirming this day and event. Now it is my turn to emit a message that not only confirms this but explains it with further detail.
For those who don’t know, I am Commander Adama. I am a Galactic Federation of Light representative of Planet Earth and have daily contact with these higher dimensional beings from our galaxy and Universe. For quite some time I have been told about an event of this magnitude happening, but until now was not permitted to write about it publically. Anyway, let me get right to the information you all wish to hear.
I am confirming to an extent that on October 14th 2008 there will be a Galactic Federation of Light ship stationed for a period of three days over the southern-most parts of the United States of America. Exactly where is still unknown. This IS an event that is planned to occur. What is important for everyone to remember is that this is a prediction of an event for your future.
Since it is impossible to predict the future, this event is in no way shape or form concrete in happening on October 14th 2008. Simply put, it depends upon the energetic signature of this event and its fluidity within the flow of manifestation between now and this date. It is important to not set up expectations solely upon this date as it is dependent upon the fluidity of the energies flowing through this planet, and events planned to manifest into your reality due have a tendency in changing the relative linear time as to when it will concretely happen. So basically what I am saying is that this event may happen on October 14th 2008, but there are also infinite possibilities that it may happen sooner or later than expected. These facts are key to understanding this event and its manifestation into your collective reality.

When this event does occur, one of the Galactic Federation of Lights ships will appear within the southern-most parts of the United States of America; somewhere within the southern states. The reason why this is planned within the United States of America is due to the power structures that have the most amount of planetary control which is in this country. The Illuminati stronghold exists here which is why the GFOL is focusing on it to do two things. To create an event in which the whole planet can see the truth about life within your Galaxy and Universe and that it in fact does exist, as well as showing the Illuminati that their time is over as controllers and manipulators, and a new era of life is ready to be born! This event is what will jumpstart the proverbial ball to start rolling downhill symbolizing the process’ of extraterrestrial beings getting ready to assist humanity in transforming into a new reality.
“Okay, so let’s get to the actual event. I want to know how big this ship is, and what it will do if anything? Will it interact with us?”
The ship will be anywhere from 2,000 - 5,000 feet in length. It will be big enough to not deny but small enough to not create a lot of fear. What will it do? It will do two particular things which are significant.
1) It will emit a series of energies to both the world and the surrounding areas to limit the levels of fear or chaos that may erupt within some people. Large levels of these feelings and emotions will not occur.
2) It will emit telepathic messages to people within the surrounding areas but may be heard by a larger amount of the planets population depending upon what is needed and what is the most beneficial. These telepathic messages will tell people about the event, who they are, that they come in peace, as well as other things.
This event is planned to happen over a three day period in which the ship itself will not move at all. It will blip into your reality, and exit the same way. It will do this within the medium to higher aspects of the level of atmosphere known as the troposphere.
“But when this event occurs, won’t the Illuminati try to make the world believe that this is an alien invasion? And what if they try to censor this from the world’s media?”
Very good question! This is a question thought by a lot of people. The simple answers are NO for both questions. Why? The GFOL has planned this event in such a way that it will have a positive major impact within humanity as well as the dark. The Illuminati’s power is dwindling as each second passes. They do not have the power they once had. Will this stop them from trying to do what was asked? Probably not. But when an event of this magnitude happens, it is something that cannot be denied by anyone, even governments. This ship which is going to appear cannot be quickly debunked as some type of atmospheric phenomena or some other gaseous event, or even a “weather balloon.” When tens of thousands, if not more, are also saying that this ship has communicated with them in a peaceful benevolent manner, what is the world or its governments say to cover this up? There is nothing!
“So if October 14th comes and goes, and this event does not occur, what should we do or think?”
This is exactly why it is important not to set sole expectations upon this date. If this event does not happen then, then all that means is that there has been a slight shift in the energies of this event which has prolonged its manifestation. If this in fact does occur, a time frame you could expect to have it manifest is from October 15th 2008 until February 1st 2009. Know that whatever happens, the GFOL are always approaching their plans to assist in a manner that is the most beneficial for the planets humanity as a whole collective entity.
This event is real, it is planned, and it will happen no matter what, whether it is right on schedule, or sooner or later than expected.

I agree that the reason of the chaos and toughness of the world now is the power that the materialistic minds have had over human society since ever. They want more and more power and to conquer the outer space, just to take the garbage from this planet out there, but all they have are problems upon problems, because our science is reaching the limits of its ability to predict and explain Nature.
Our science is limited in all directions by what is impossible according to the "laws" that we know, but we forget to ask ourselves if we can dig into other deeper realms of Nature in which these impossibilities would not exist, only because we're locking ourselves in a very limited mode of existence of this, so called, 3rd density level.
The supreme Law of Love has no boundaries and is the only one that can really take us to "conquer" the space and to make us citizens of a Galactic community and set us free, into a completely new direction of evolution.
If we choose the right path, if we do not deny our innermost spiritual nature, that connect us with God and Law of Love, we will surely have the support of those "aliens" who already understand these Truths.
This is the real challenge of our time, the option to become really free and powerful and connected to each other and the rest of the Universe by the Law of Love.
That's the meaning of the Oct 14th event.

There are many *real* UFO sightings and proof in video, photographs, etc., from the most various sources that you can imagine that are creating this expectation regarding Oct-14.
If it is going to be an undeniable proof, it must be HUGE seen by many with various documents from independent sources so that no government would be able to deny it.
