Winyu Paradorngym hopes to prove that she is a true champion in her first defence of the WBC female atomweight belt in Japan next Monday.
The 25-year-old fighter (7-1-1) will take on Japanese Momo Koseki whom she beat in the vacant 102 pounds championship belt last August.
"Winyu is well prepared for the rematch," said her promoter Preeyakorn Rattanasuban.
"She wants to prove she is the real champion and not one who only fights at home."
The promoter said that getting Winyu to box abroad is another way to promote female boxing and Japan is an important market.
"It is risky," he admitted. "However, if you are the real champion, you do not have to worry." Winyu has reportedly made fast progress since she defeated Momo on points. She has been focused on fitness. "However, we can not be over confident because we are boxing in Japan," said Preeyakorn.
It will be the third time the left-handed Momo (5-2) has challenged for the title. Last November, she was defeated by Samson Sor Siriporn in the WBC female light-flyweight championship.
Monday's 10-round fight will take place at the Korakuen Hall and will be broadcast live on UBC at 5pm.
