Japanese dub 2007 year of ‘deception’

Japanese stocks will end 2007 – a year so disappointing that the Japanese have branded it with the pictogram for “deception” – as the worst performers of any big equity market.

Barring a miraculous recovery on Friday in the last trading session this year, the benchmark Nikkei 225 Average will end the year down nearly 10 per cent.
